The Unwanted Marriage

Chapter 4

    Getting dressed in the black jean’s and tank top that she had picked up, her mind was racing. Her mate was in the other room waiting for her. He had managed to control his wolf, so that he didn’t violate her. She was glad. Even though he is her mate, she wanted to take things slow. She had never had a real relationship before and wasn’t about to rush into it.

    After she was done getting dressed, she walked out of her bathroom, to fin her mate exactly where she had left him, standing in the middle of her room. As she approached him, he stayed completely still. She went to sit on the edge of her bed, and motion for him to do the same.

    Making his way to her bed, his eyes stay on her the whole time. Carefully sitting down, they stayed quiet for some time, both of them, not knowing what to say. Kat expected the silence to be unbearable, but she couldn’t help but be content. She knew her wolf agreed with her, purring in the back of Kat’s mind.

    Suddenly, Jared decided to break the silence.

    “mine,” he say’s in a possessive manor, reaching to hold her hand.

    “all yours,” she replies, as she leans into his shoulder, her wolf purring in agreement.

    They talked about everything, but also absolutely nothing. He was 26 and became the alpha of the Dark Moon pack after his father had died when he was 18. Jordan explained that the only reason he had agreed to marry Kat was because, after 8 years he still hadn’t met his mate, and his pack elders were impatient for a luna and heirs for their alpha. His elder’s were the one to accept her fathers proposition. They had given Jordan a year to find his mate, or he would marry Kat. They kept talking and after a couple of hours, they made their way for the kitchen for some food. They had talked for so long they hadn’t realised lunch came and went until Kathrin’s stomach growled, hungry. She had blushed a deep red, and he had taken her hand to go and get some food, not wanting to be separate from his mate for more than a second. Not that Kathrin minded being dragged to the kitchen by him. Actually, she couldn’t help but be happy he was still holding her.

    The kitchen was empty when they got there. Kathrin couldn’t help but be happy about it. She wasn’t ready to share her mate with anyone else quite yet. Grabbing what was left from the packs lunch, they sat down at the island in the middle of their kitchen and quickly ate their food. Once they were done, Jordan put their plates in the dishwasher, while Kathrin jumped down her stool.

    Hand in hand, they made their way up to her room. Jordan went to sit on her bed witch his back against the wall and pulling Kat against his chest. They talked for another hour never seeming to run out of things to say before Kat’s eye lids began to drop.

    Waking up, she felt something hard against her cheek. She looked up to fin her mate, Jordan, fast asleep underneath her. Smiling up at him, she started to draw on his chest, enjoying the tingles his touch gave her all over her body and the slow rhythm of his breath.

    Looking back up at Jordan face after a while, she realises that his eyes were already opened and looking at her intently. She blushed from the attention from her mate.

    “how long have you been up?” asked Jordan, his voice husky with sleep. Her toescurled at his voice, as her blushed deepened.

    “half an hour maybe,” she said, hiding her face in his chest. Jordan’s and came up to her cheek, to lead her gaze up to his eyes.

“you could’ve woken me up, I wouldn’t have complained,” he said focusing his gaze on her lips, making her blush even more, if that was even possible.

    They stayed there, their limbs entwined, simply enjoying each others presence in a comfortable silence. Kat was reluctant to let go, but was getting hungy, so she tried t move in his arms, looking for a clock. When Jordan didn’t let her move, she settled back down, and looked up at him, to find him already looking at her. Holding her tighter, looking intent on never letting her go, he asked why she was moving.

    “I was just wondering what time it is?” Kat asked glancing around again, but she couldn’t see the clock, with Jordan’s arms tightening around some more her when she tried to move.

    “it’s past 8, we missed dinner,” he said, looking at the clock behind him.

    As if on cue, her stomach growled, telling her to go eat. Jordan chuckled and sat up.

    “we’ll be leaving tomorrow for my pack, I’ll let you go say your goodbyes and get something to eat. Then I’ll help you pack,” He said, standing up to leave.

    Kat quickly got up and wrapped her arms around her mate’s abdomen, breathing him in one more time. Jordan immediately returned the hug, embracing her shoulder’s in his big arms. He lowered his head to the crook of her neck, to breath in her sent as well. They stayed entwined together for another five minutes, when they finally let each other go. Jazmine was whining in the back of Kathrin’s head at the absence of her mate’s touch.

    After he had left her room, she had made her way to the training grounds, where she was sure she would find her brothers.

    Downstairs, she grabbed one of the sandwiches left in the kitchen and went through the back door in the kitchen, after scarfing down her sandwich. Heading to the back yard, where everybody trained, she could see her brothers, sparing against each other. As she was making her way towards them, they stopped when they scented her, turning towards where she was standing, on the side of their little rink.

    “where have you been?” “are you alright, what did father want?” “who is that I smell on you?” the triplets said at the same time, curious and worried.

    “all right guys, one question at a time,” Kat said. They just looked at her, waiting for their little sister to respond to their questions.

    “I’m fine as you can see, and I was in my room all day,” she said answering a few of their questions, before continuing. “father wanted to see me to tell me that he has sold my hand to an alpha, and that I would be leaving tomorrow,” she said, waiting for their reactions.

    “what?! He can’t do that!” “what about your mate!?” “we won’t let him send you away!” they all said at the same time, again, but this time with anger.

    “calm down boys, for you last question, you can smell someone else on me, because I was with my mate all day.” Kat said, surprising her brothers even more with her last statement.

    “really?! I’m so happy for you!” replied the twins, with a big grin, hugging their little sister.

    “does he know your to marry somebody else?” said Liam, sadly, bringing her brothers to all look at her in worry and sadness.

    “yes he does, because he is the one father brought for me to marry.” She said, waiting for their reactions once more.

    They all gaped at her, not knowing what to say.

    “why didn’t you start with that, you had us worried.”

    “I wanted to see your faces,” she said biting her lip, trying not to laugh at their still shocked faces. When their shock finaly subsided, turned happy, but angry. She knew that look. It only came out when they wanted to tease or annoy her. She then abruptly shifted in her wolf, and turned around, to run to the forest.

    ‘oh you better run little sister’ said liam, teasing her smiling.

    Her three brothers shifted immediately and ran after her, but not before shooting her a vengeful smirk. They ran around in the forest for what felt like hours, when her brothers finally caught her. They had to go to the trees where they had some stashed clothing, since they had all ripped their clothing, shifting in their wolf form.

    Walking back to their house, Kat told them she would be leaving tomorrow morning. They had all said earlier, when they had caught her, that they were happy if she was happy. However, they were sad she was leaving so early. They had asked if she could delay her departure, but she said why delay, when it’s going to happen any way.

    They went their separate ways when they reached the house, each going to their own rooms.
