Prologue

Kathrin always loved running. Everyone said that she's been running since she could stand up straight. growing up with three older brothers only pushed her to prove she could be as strong as the three of them. This did not help tame her competitive instincts, much to her fathers dismay. She had always look just like her mother, and when she died a few years after her birth, he couldn’t stand to look at her. To him, she was only a pawn to play in his game of life. To him, he owned her, and her life. And so, she ran every morning to avoid seeing him when he left for his office in the pack house, only coming back when she was sure he left. Growing up, her brothers helped her train in secret. Her father always hated when she trained, ever since his mate and their mother had died. every time he had caught her training, he would stop her, and give her a mountain of chores. At 10,  when she shifted for the first time, he only increased his efforts to stop her training, but he never commanded her with his alpha status. knowing deep down that, if she was weak, it would reflect badly on him and his pack. so she kept training, and kept getting better and better. now, her father can't deny her strength and power in the pack. when she reached 18 years, when she would be able to find her mate, he decided to get to work on finding her a husband for an alliance.      And that is what is now happening on her 21st birthday, the signing of the contract for her marriage alliance. All she wanted to do was run, but she couldn't. She didn't know what her father was planning. He had decided that his signature would be enough, saying he had every right to sign her life away. Even though she was now a grown woman.
