ISLA’S POV I woke up slowly, feeling the soft light filtering through the curtains. The room was quiet, peaceful. For a second, I just lay there, trying to hold onto the calm feeling that came with sleep. But then reality hit me, and I realized Oliver wasn’t beside me. The bed felt colder than it had the night before. I sat up, heart racing. Was it all a dream? Had Oliver really been so kind to me yesterday?
