There was a short pause before the detective replied, "As I said, Ms. Stone, there's new information. And it's the biggest breakthrough we've had since this investigation began."
An investigation I knew nothing of, if that even made any sense. I didn't say this out loud.

The security footage from the traffic intersection was reviewed again. It had been partly corrupted before, but our tech team was able to recover more frames.
I said nothing, just waited.
The footage shows a figure near the accident scene just minutes before and after the crash.
Another long pause.
That figure is Alpha Liam.
