Chapter 7

458 Words
Morning, 9:34 AM I woke up with a pounding headache. I stumbled to the bathroom, took a quick shower, and when I stepped out, Sara entered the room. “Are you okay, dear?” she asked. “I’m fine,” I replied, trying to sound confident. “We have a meeting now. Well done last night—you did a great job!” she added. “What did I do?” I asked, confused. “You told Narias’ partner that we want to buy the casino. Now we’re one step closer, and since you’re the one who proposed it, you’ll be attending. Get ready!” “What? No… I can’t go. I… I don’t want to!” “What the hell are you saying? We’re so close—don’t you understand? You have to play your part now. Get ready, and stop talking nonsense!” she snapped, then left the room. Oh God. What am i going to do? Maybe I needed to face him—it might help me release some of this tension. Could I do it? It would be difficult, but I had to. Perhaps this would be a perfect way to get some revenge—not just by confronting him, but by finishing the deal I came here to close. I picked out a beautiful dress, kept my makeup light, and let my hair fall freely. Stepping out of the room, I headed downstairs. They were waiting for me. “Are you okay?” Daris asked. “Yes… I’m fine. And I’m really sorry for messing up the plan,” I said. “It’s okay, just being here is enough,” Rowan reassured me. “Well, thanks to you, we now have a great opportunity,” Leoklav added. Sara nodded. “Alright, let’s go!” “Aren’t you coming too?” I asked. “We’ll draw too much attention. You two just go—it’s better this way,” Daris said. “Alright,” I replied, taking a deep breath. We got into the car and drove off. My heart was pounding—not from fear, but from knowing I was about to face him again. When we arrived, we got out and walked inside. The place was breathtaking, a true masterpiece. “Welcome,” a staff member greeted us politely. “Oh, hi!” Sara said warmly. “Please, follow me,” the staff member added. I followed her, and when the door opened, I took a deep breath and stepped inside. He was there, sitting calmly. And the moment he turned his head, our eyes met. I felt my entire body freeze as I struck him with a look that carried all the pain, anger, and resolve I had been holding onto.
