CHAPTER 2 A few seconds later, Charrie was still speechless. Hyan tilted his head to check if she could see him. "Did she hear what I said?” He asked himself. "Is she a fan? or does she simply like the music compilation of my latest series?" Hyan pondered silently. "Glad to meet you…Is your name Charrie?" He clarified with a slightly raised voice. He wanted her to confirm her name. Charrie nodded. She couldn't believe what was happening. "Did I sleep while waiting? Was it all a dream?" She was too shocked to voice what was in her mind. Charrie simply stared at Hyan, who was comfortably sitting in front of her. A six-foot-tall man, more or less, with a very masculine appearance, his gentle face was so charming. Unlike how she saw him on screen, the man in front of her displayed a rugged appearance with hair styled as if he had just had a bath, but still, he looked very neat and very attractive. BUT his eyes were the same —the kind that could make a lady's heart melt in an instant. It was radiating peace and had a dreamy effect on people. Enticing. Mesmerizing. His cologne might be one of those expensive perfume brands on the market. He smelled good and fresh. Even if she couldn't speak, her mind was running a mile. Hyan saw her shocked gaze. He smiled, he tittered and he laughed and smiled again. That was a killer smile, Charrie thought; all the more, it messed up her brain. She gulped when a set of dimples appeared in his cheeks. If he just knew how attractive he looked at that moment, he could capture the heart of anyone... as it captured hers. She thought to herself. On the other hand, Hyan was thinking... Charrie's voice was sweeter than he expected. Although she was blushing at the moment, it only added to her adorable and eye-catching appearance. He was even more interested in her. It was not normal for him to be overlooked. The fifteen minutes she didn't even glance at him wasn't normal. He was frequently recognized instantly and harassed to a certain point by ladies he met. However, the lady in front of him was unaware and wasted the opportunity to speak with him longer. But--she was shocked to see him in front of her. Hyan shook his head repeatedly. A few more seconds later, Charrie finally snapped from her trance... "Ehem," she cleared her throat. "Glad to meet you, Mr. Hyan," she shyly greeted him, as she pulled herself together. She released a deep breath to shake off her muddled mind. "I've been here for the last 15 minutes. I wanted to ask permission to sit here but I don't want to disturb you. I saw from your phone screen that you are listening to the OST of my latest series. Did you like it?" His voice was very husky. He speaks better in person, Charrie observed. Hyan's English command was good, but his accent was slightly different due to his language orientation. She nodded, "Yeah. the selection is soothing; however, I wish I could understand the lyrics," she remarked and added..."Aside from the OST, I also like the series; the fascinating storyline and the actors' performances were convincing. It is definitely one of my favorites," Even if Charrie's face was still flushed, she smiled with confidence as she spoke, gaining the poise she usually displayed with her business acquaintances. She couldn't forgive herself for her earlier action, she was embarrassed, but she couldn't undo what happened. She just needed to regain her dignity. He chuckled, "Thank you for letting me know. I am so grateful to those who appreciate our hard work," Hyan responded sincerely. Charrie silently murmured. "Hyan did not appear like the usual self-gratifying and obnoxious celebrity. He looked sincerely grateful for the support of his increasing fans in SK and other parts of the world." She admired him more. Hyan's humble character answered her question earlier. "What made him so popular is his character." He deserved his fame. He deserved to be admired by many. Charrie concurred. "You are a great actor. I'm a fan!" she declared. She didn’t want to appear too affected by his presence but politely acknowledged his prestige. Hyan scoffed, finding it hard to believe what she said, "You are a fan? Really?" He figured, she was just polite and afraid to offend him when she didn’t recognize him immediately, he thought to himself. "I am really a fan," she affirmed with a half-laugh, trying to convince him. Hyan smiled and tried to change the topic... "Tell me, Charrie, where are you going?" he queried. "Oh! My destination is Japan; the flight was delayed," Charrie replied. She just considered the flight delay a blessing in disguise. Otherwise, she wouldn't have a chance to meet him in person. "I know. Same with me, we might be on the same flight!" Hyan blurted out, realizing what a great coincidence it was. Of all the people inside the lounge, he met someone who'd be traveling to the same country as him. "Tokyo?" Charrie queried. "Tokyo?" Hyan asked. They both mention the name of the place at the same time. Finally, they were able to break down the awkward moments. They laughed together, like old friends. They looked comfortable. Charrie was elegant and calm while Hyan was in his most relaxed appearance, smiling a lot and he hardly cared about his surroundings. For the first time, Hyan didn't mind all the people staring at them. After a while, one of Hyan's assistants approached them. He whispered something in Hyan's ear. Hyan looked at him and nodded. He was invited to a snap press conference. The airport management would like to take the opportunity to meet Hyan and give him a chance to say goodbye to his fans. They have learned of the man's importance and influence, evidenced by his increasing fan base worldwide. He heaved a disappointed sigh and looked at Charrie. "I'll see you later, Charrie," he uttered as he stood up and followed his assistant, waving goodbye to her. Charrie unconsciously looked at Hyan's back and silently muttered, "Oh my goodness, even his back looked good. He was stylish, physically fit, perfectly formed, and his personality was magnetic." "Goodness, he's hot!" she murmured under heavy breath, and she giggled. Being hot and attractive was not surprising, since he was also famous for product endorsements. Expensive and exclusive men's apparel, cell phones, cars, and other products were among the products he was endorsing worldwide. When Hyan turned again and looked at her, she said, "Safe flight!" Hyan smiled and waved at her once again. After he left... Charrie was able to breathe freely. "Charrie, you are so lucky," she told herself. She giggled, and she couldn’t wait to tell her friend Candies. Her chance of meeting Hyan was like a dream. In fact, she had just wished for it earlier, then it happened! She couldn’t believe it actually had happened. It brought a big smile to her face. The man was so good-looking and a real gentleman. How many fans could have the chance to encounter him this close? Not to mention, exchange conversation with him for at least 15 minutes! Probably one in a million. Charrie was still in a daze when she heard the call for boarding. She gathered her belongings and readied herself to line up with the rest of the boarding passengers. She looked around to see if Hyan was anywhere near, but there was no sign of him as she scanned the surroundings. "Well, I just had my chance, and that's enough!" she smiled cheekily. She happily boarded the plane. Since she had a first-class ticket, she was conveniently assisted by the stewardess and seated at a spacious two-seat row. Each seat has a foldable curtain for privacy. The seats were fully reclinable for the comfort of the passengers. The lovely stewardess approached her, "Are you comfortable, madame? Perhaps you would like to have something to drink?" She could request coffee, tea, or water, but Charrie refused her gently. "I am alright! I just had my drink at the lounge. Thank you!" she gracefully responded. "By the way, ma'am, the seat next to you is unoccupied. That will offer you convenience if you need to use the washroom later," She smiled and added, "Feel free to call me any time you need anything. Enjoy flying with us!" Charrie smiled back at the lovely and graceful stewardess, in her mind, "One of the perks of flying first class. You get extra service." Since she was occupying the seat near the window, she could see the queue of the aircraft on the runway. She heard the announcement that the plane was ready for take-off. She prepared as instructed by the steward and stewardess in front. After a few minutes, the plane was stable in the air... She closed her eyes and prepared herself to rest. She wanted to sleep through her four-hour flight to Tokyo. She had one hell of a surprise earlier, and she was exhausted. After all, she likened the experience to a Ferris wheel ride --she definitely hit the peak of emotion when she met him. She placed her earsets once again on her ears and listened to the same compilation. She was almost zoning to oz when she felt something moving in the seat near her. She remembered what the stewardess told her; the seat would be unoccupied. How come she could feel there was a person near her now? She opened her eyes slowly. She gawked. She got the second big surprise of the day. She saw Hyan being assisted by the stewardess as he adjusted his seat to give way to his long legs. The curtain was also adjusted to the privacy he had requested, but the curtain dividing the two of them remained folded... Therefore, they could see each other. The stewardess gently asked Hyan if he was comfortable, and Hyan responded, "Yes!" The stewardess left him after making a bow. Hyan turned to her, "Hello, again, Charrie," he displayed once again his most charming smile, "I hope you don't mind me sitting next to you?" He added in his husky voice. Charrie breathed out, "Oh, Oh, Yes! Of course! D-don't worry about me!" she stuttered, still in shock. She reclined her seat and tried to calm herself."Why is he here?" she asked herself nervously. Hyan was aware of her shocked reaction when he saw her red face. He pretended to be interested in resting, so he closed his eyes. It would take them four hours to reach their destination. He would let Charrie rest first. There would be plenty of time to talk later. There was total silence in their private space... However, Charrie was very uncomfortable, she tried to relax, and she did not move an inch. She wouldn't want to disturb Hyan. She decided to focus her attention on listening to the OST again to calm herself...but still, her attempt at diversion was not working. She could hear her heartbeat louder than the music playing in her ears. Thirty minutes later, she couldn’t hold on to her stiff position. She was very uncomfortable, and her legs were numb. She stretched herself slowly, making sure her movement would not disturb the person beside her. However, it was the opportunity Hyan was waiting for. As soon as he felt her move, he faced her and asked, "Are you uncomfortable? Are you okay?" Charrie hid her nervousness in a smile, but when she attempted to answer him, her voice came out as if a big stone was stuck in her throat, "Yes! Ehem Ehem," she placed her hand on her neck. Hyan called the stewardess immediately and asked for water for both of them. The stewardess happily complied and gave them two bottles of mineral water. The stewardess looked at Hyan admiringly. She thought they had met many celebrities before, but Hyan was way too attractive than most of them. The airline crew had been gossiping about him. Hyan was assigned a seat with bigger legroom, but he requested a transfer beside the lady, ignoring his comfort. It could have been more comfortable if he took the front row seat. They contended themselves to think that Hyan and Charrie were friends, which was why he had preferred the seat next to her. "Here's the water". Hyan loosened the cap for her Charrie sipped the water slowly, then said, "Thank you!" gaining stability in her voice. "Are you cold? We can ask for an additional blanket." Hyan asked worriedly. She shook her head repeatedly, "No! I'm good!" Charrie muttered, "Hyan was just a gentle person, and he was sweet. He would do it to anybody, but...You are a lucky lady Charrie!" those words did not escape her throat, and she was not able to make her comfortable either. Her heart was pounding in her chest loudly, and her breathing became shallow...more so her mind was going crazy!
