I know Exos has it hard, ladies won't ever leave him alone… and the men all kinda wanna kill him. He just doesn't understand what it's like to be his friend. I'm also in his shadow because he's every woman's wet dream while I'm compared to a wet dog. Yea I'm cuter because I'm a fox but no one would want me with the option of him. He needed a break from the world so we'd go to our 'man-cave' to hang out and hide from all. Maybe I should get Paxton, Titus and Andrew to come join. Might get him outta his funk faster. I mindlinked them to join. We'll make it a party. As I stepped over the threshold I felt an odd disturbance, but just chalked it up to his foul mood. Instead I shouted "Hey, sexy candy you in there". Gotta lighten the mood right. As I shift to run to his favorite clearing I see a beautiful creature with dark blue wavy locks walking away from him. As if he has no f*****g control over her. I got so mad that he would violate the grounds that I thought were for us not females."WHAT THE f**k, man I thought we weren't bringing chicks here. You said you need some space from people and yet you bring in…" I started. Of course that's when a scent so sweet tickles my nose. Like pure happiness and potent passion

"Well, my f*****g bad I didn't get any f*****g memo says boys only. For your information I was here first. The only thing that brought me here was thinking I'd find peace. f**k you" she retorted as she turned around to storm off. Jesus I f****d up I made my one and only mate angry. Doesn't she fill the bond connecting her soul to mine. I couldn't let her leave so without thinking I changed back to my fox form and tackled her to the ground to stop her… from going into a portal made of flames? I needed her to acknowledge me as her mate. I won't stop. 

"Ash, get off of her before you hurt her" warned Exos. Hurt her, I could never. Before I could retort back in our mental link I went flying into that f*****g tree that always calmed him down. I went to shoot him a glare and noticed that he had a hard-on for my mate. So I snarled with plenty of warning.

"Incubus" she f*****g purred as if she belonged to him not me. I was ready to fight him to the death for her. "Do you want to fight?" She smiled evilly and granite would even shatter just to get out of her presence. "Because the last one that deemed me weak and all that fun s**t, took three hours to rinse his blood and guts from my hair". I watched as the color drained from his face.

That's my mate!! She's putting him in his place and wasn't trying to get in his pants?? I slowly stood up and the sword moved in my direction. She thinks I'm a threat, what did I do wrong?  "Mate, what's wrong? Let me protect you and help you. You are mine!" I claimed furiously. 

Then I saw Andrew had arrived and was watching with anger etched upon his entire face. He ran forward at speeds even I couldn't see to disarm and contain her. In a flurry of moves I barely saw her swing the sword through the air at the last moment and caught his neck in her free hand. Pulling his body close to hers facing me she put the flaming sword against his throat. I expected him to burn up right away but the fire never moved towards him. I felt the barrier be breached by both Titus and Paxton. s**t this wouldn't be fun to diffuse with everyone here. 

"Don't f*****g call me that. I am no one's mate and never will be" she stated. My heart sank she was going to reject me. She didn't even stutter as if she stated the truth. I couldn't bear it anymore. I curled up refusing to hear the next words. 

As if sensing the turmoil inside me she sighed. Which gave me enough hope to lift my head to stare into her eyes.

"Little fox, you don't understand I am the monster under your bed. I don't feel anything except anger and rage. How can I be your mate if I can't feel anything between us? Plus I'm not even aware if we could mate" she slowly trailed off. Looking at the hand holding her sword. "I seem to have an affinity for fire. You'll get burned everyone does" was added as an afterthought. My heart sank to hear that my mate couldn't feel our bond and then decided to rope me in with the others she could have been with.
