My breath remains in my throat as he steps close enough but not too close to be considered inappropriate.
“I hope you do know how not to mix business and pleasure, Miss Brie?”
I nod
“Good, because that night was nothing but a casual act between two adults. I don't want you reading inappropriate meanings into it” he says with a slow firm voice as if giving me time to process each word.
“Sure I do Sir. It was nothing more but s*x” I lie through my teeths.
He nods in agreement to what I said and just walks past me leaving his office and I turn around too going downstairs to catch a cab home.
And that was the end of my fantasies.
I slept immediately I got home not even sharing snippets of my first day there with my mom as I promised.
I got up early to my neighbors annoying c**k crowing.
This is the reason why I don't own an alarm clock,why own that when I've got a natural unfailing alarm.
I walk downstairs into the kitchen.
“Brie” my little sister calls coming down the stairs rubbing her eyes.
“Hey Chloe, why are you up so early”
“I didn't get to see you yesterday,so I woke up early knowing that you'd leave before I even get up”
“And Mrs Nelly’s chicken keeps shouting too” she adds and I chuckle.
“You got that right. Well now that I work in a big company, I won't be able to spend much time with you but I think I have a solution” I carry her keeping her on the counter.
Her formerly sad eyes lit up once she hears that there's a way we get to spend time together.
“I am free on weekends so I can reserve that for you my little princess” I say rubbing my nose against her causing her to giggle.
“Okay, that's good with me brie. We can go to the water parks,or oh oh oh Disney world” she says not even looking at my pocket.
“Sure, anything for you” I hug my little sister.
I tuck her back into bed before leaving.
As my house is a few miles away from the company,it takes me a whole hour to get there.
It's exactly 7:30 when I get there.
Am early but so are so many others working there.
“Morning Brie” I look up to see a girl smiling at me,like an actual genuine smile.
“Am Edeline” she says
“Brie” I respond smiling too.
“Your the new secretary,right?” I nod in response to the question.
“Why does everyone keep asking me that?” I ask her tired of the strange gazes thrown my way by people in the company.
“You don't know?” She says and I frown
“Know what?” Curious to hear what she has to say.
“The Almighty CEO of the M&K’s media company is…… and immediately our boss steps out of our floor's elevator.
