It was all strange. When their focus went past the loud rush of water, the place would be dead silent. None panoply of little chirpy voices, chorusing to a song. All afternoon they are here, yet none saw any other kind of life besides the green, and that of the lake. If they had closed their eyes to see beyond the diamond sparks that the light reflects, is what leeringly begged them to flee­­- what the silence spoke. Alexandria is crouched on the floor besides her favorite people, whose suspire get thinner by the second, and whose bodies are being ripped from the inside as the poison works its nature.
