School

As if cutting my hair was not enough school became so stressful and my mother's sickness was worsening.I was about to write my finals and prom was around the corner at the same time write my University Essay.I called Leon to discuss.

"hey are you ready for the finals?"

"Not at all I am really tired,my dad called yesterday to invite us to his wedding?"

"What your dad is getting married"

"Yes and Chloe keeps on asking why we can't visit him.I can't control myself I feel seeing him will make me want hit him"

"Haven't you told Chloe about the divorce,she is now old enough to understand "

"Enough about dad,what did you want us to discuss "

I was lost in thoughts for I have always been telling Leon all my problems and did not even ask about him.Leon and his family were passing through alot but put everything aside for us.I decided to talk to Chloe.

"Hello earth to Aurora"

"Oh sorry bestfriend,what did you say?"

"Did you write your essay and how many schools are you applying to?"

"I really don't want to go to University next year I will take a gap year and volunteer at the cancer hospital so that I spend more time with mum".

"I understand you,for me I want to be done with university as soon as possible"

We sat in my room and brain stormed ideas for his eassy then later studied for our finals.

"it is time for you to get going I have to prepare supper"

"Are you ready for prom?".

"Yes Aaron and I will be going with my boyfriend,so do you have a prom date?"

"The girl I wanted is already taken so I guess I'll just have to ask someone else"

"Really who is that girl?"

"Don't worry about it,I am sure you won't know her but am planning on asking Emma"

"I know everyone at that school"

Leon looked at me and quickly changed the topic he later left and I went to do all my chores,had my shower and was getting ready to go for a walk with Chloe.I know it isn't my place to tell her but I really wanted to help my bestfriend.I walked over to their house and got Chloe.

"Aurora what has made you want me today?"

"I want to get some ice cream with my little sister I know how much you love it"

"Oh great you know me well"

After having ice cream I decided to bring up the topic for why I brought her out here

"Chloe where is your dad?"

"Dad is in New York, he remained there when mum was transferred out here for work."

"Oh really when was the last time you talked to him"

"The day we moved here mum doesn't like it when I ask alot about him it's like he is no longer part of our lives, especially with Leon, he doesn't want to hear about anything to do with dad"

"Okay and how do you feel about that?"

"It used to be difficult but I got used to living without him"

"Baby girl do you know what a divorce is?"

I tried to be as soft as I could be but the mention of a divorce made Chloe go in thoughts she was quiet for some time, that made me so anxious.

"Sorry I was lost for a moment,sure I know what a divorce is"

"How would you feel if your parents got one?."

The silence was back and this time she was really in deep thoughts,Chloe's started to tear up she realized that her parents where divorced for some time now and she was not told about it.

"Aurora my parents are divorced and didn't even want to tell me"

"They have always wanted to tell you but you were little by then they didn't want to hurt you."

It took some time for her to accept what I was telling her,I decided not to tell her about the wedding and the other family her dad has.

"Okay I understand thank you for telling me please don't tell Leon about this I want him to tell me at his own time."

"Promise I won't tell"

Wow that talk was a success I was really happy that Chloe finally understood and won't be troubling.It was time for us to go home and prepare for bed..The next morning I woke up and prepared for my classes,at this point of time I was really tired and wanted to get over with school.

"Hey Aurora you will find me at school I am heading out early"

"Is there any problem?"

"Not at all"

"Okay Leon see you later"

I walked to school,the first class of the day was for Mr Brown,he came with a pop quiz and I was ready for it,I really needed to pass to raise my SAT score.

The next period is guidance,all she was going to talk about is our application essays,and she was going to be on me because it seemed I was the only one who had not started.

"Good morning class"

"Good morning Mrs Anderson"

"Class you all know what I will be talking about so all those who are done with the essays bring them here and those who need help see me.Aurora any progress?"

"No madam I don't know what to write yet"

"You are running out of time see me after class"

All I knew is that I want to take a gap year and I was in no rush to apply but the people around me are not understanding.School is so stressful bait I needed to be strong for my mother.
