The Best

stared at the mirror for hours,I couldn't believe that was my reflection and that I really got through cutting my hair because that is one thing I was really protective of.My emotions where all over the room but I was certain I made a right choice.

The next morning all I wanted was for Aaron to see me,I did all this without his knowledge. Did all my preparation but when it was time to leave I then realized that my head was bold,Mum looked at me then burst into laughter I could not control myself but joined her all I was really happy for is that she was laughing.

"Oh my Angel you really did all this without thinking and now you look like a potato".

"Mother please help me"

I gave her the puppy dog eyes?

"Don't worry my angel this only means we will have to go shopping"

"Mother how does being bold mean we have to go shopping"?

She the told me we will go for Wig shopping and that for the mean time I can wear one of her head socks.I was super excited for I really did not think of all the options I had.

"hey bold head"

"Leon please be kind,let us just go to school and don't call me that"

he laughed at me so bad that I walked away,he ran to catch up and promised not to make the joke.

"Well now it's time to tell your boyfriend and see his reaction,I am gonna love this"

I too knew well Aaron was not the kind good with surprises but with an uncertain tone I told Leon all will be fine.

"Hello baby, yesterday I was really held up even when you needed me I could not help.how are you?"

"Hey babe,Leon helped I am good how are you?"

"It's good you have a bestie,what is it that was so urgent for you not to wait for me?"

Without giving any answer I removed my headsock.Aarons face suddenly changed his eyes where wide but he still could not believe for he kept on wiping them.Leon laughed so hard at Aarons reaction.

"Babe are you going to say something"

we continued our walk to school and that was the only sentence Aaron made the whole way after a long walk of silence Leon broke the suspense.

"Dude do you know that this was a very big gesture for her mother,she has gone through alot.Aurorra did all this and she deserves support from her boyfriend.

With that statement Aaron still remained silent and it only made things worse for me,I thought maybe today was the day I get my first heartbreak.

"Dude are you really going to be quite, you do know she is going through alot right"

Leon was right and I knew he would always have my back but he had to stop for Aaron had a lot to process.

"Leon kindly give us so time"

He stormed out angrily.

"Baby we are in school now and you haven't said a word since I showed you my hair, should we talk now or I give you time to think all this trough?"

Aaron walked out and did not give me any answer.I remained baffled not knowing where we stand made everything worse.I attend all my classes,there was no trace of Aaron.Leon was really disappointed with how Aaron reacted,he saw how disturbed I was in all my classes and made sure I occupied until we went home.

"Darling you are back,I guess it's time to go shopping?"

I decided not to tell mum of Aarons reaction, worrying her was one of the last thing I wanted to do.

"Yes mummy,let us go and get me some hair"

We prepared and went to the shopping center, everyone was so kind to my mother and in tears for what I did.I got two wigs for mum and I.Everyone was so kind and made mum feel so comfortable and loved.We drove home upon getting home I received a call from Aaron saying we should meet at our spot.

That made me smile for I thought to myself that atleast I still have a boyfriend.

"Anything you need me to do for you mother I'll be going to see Aaron"

"Oh and you didn't tell me his reaction"

"Don't worry mother I'll tell you when I get back"

"Make me a salad and pack the groceries"

I quickly did all she requested and made sure she was cozy before I left.I made my way to our spot not knowing what to expect.Aaron saw me and gave me his back.

"hey are you really that upset with me why are you giving me your back?"

"You caught me by surprise,I wish I was by your side when you went to cut your hair"

"Is that why you gave me a cold shoulder?"

"Baby your bestfriend is always there for you since we were kids for once I wish there was something I could do"

"Babe you being here with me is enough"

I looked straight into his eyes and was glad I wasn't getting dumbed.Aaron turned to me his eyes watery and it was the first time I saw him so emotional.

"Babe!"

"why didn't you tell me mum was loosing hair.i know it was hard in you but you didn't have to pass through it alone".

"I did not know what to say babe,it was alot to take in."

"Baby I hope this is enough to show you I will always be by your side"

I received a shock of my life when i saw Aaron remove his cap,he had no hair,I was in tears as I leaned to hug him

"Wow you shouldn't have"

"I wanted to baby remember we are twins"

We giggled and continued with our day up until it was time to walk me home.

"I love you twin"

"Aaron am not your twin,but really we now look alike".
