Chapter 42: Entry (Grace's POV) The records building loomed out of the darkness, its towering stone walls whispering warnings I could almost hear. Moonlight spilled across the grim threshold, but it did little to calm the unease curling in my chest. I knew why. Without my wolf, the very air felt heavier, each sound louder than it should’ve been. Being here wasn’t just a risk—it was dangerous. My steps echoed sharply as I entered, the cold biting deeper than the outside night air. My hand hovered protectively over my abdomen, even though I knew no harm had come yet.
