chapter 191: A Difficult Choice
(Alexander's POV)
I was preparing to leave for pack duties, already running late. The morning light streamed through our new den's windows as I adjusted my jacket.
"I'll be back around noon," I told Grace. "The alliance meeting shouldn't take long."
My communicator vibrated. Marcus Silver's name flashed on the screen.
"I need to take this," I told Grace, stepping into the hallway.
"Alpha Steele, it's Victoria!" Marcus's voice was frantic. "She tried to harm herself last night. The healers found silver-infused rope under her pillow!"
My jaw tightened. "What happened?"
"Her wolf mind is deteriorating rapidly," Marcus continued. "She keeps asking for you. Please, she needs to see you."
