(Grace's POV)
Alexander’s wolf-red eyes bore into me, hot and unrelenting. The air between us crackled with tension, heavy and suffocating.
His towering frame pressed closer, forcing me to take half a step back until the hard surface of the vehicle met my spine.
“What’s your plan, Grace?” His voice was low, laced with frustration and barely suppressed anger. “Run off to neutral territory with Lucas every time you don’t get your way?”
The accusation hit harder than I expected, but I kept my face calm. My heart raced, the pounding so loud I almost didn’t hear my own response.
