Nana glanced between me and the door. Someone was looking for her in my chambers.
"Are you expecting anyone?" I asked as if it wasn't my chamber she was in.
Before she could answer, the guard outside announced, "Alpha, Beta George seeks to see you."
I frowned. "George? What is he doing here, looking for Nana?"
Nana remained seated, her fingers clutching the edge of her dress. She looked anxious, but said nothing.
"Let him in," I instructed, and shortly after, George walked in, heading straight to Nana.
He knelt before her, caressing her fingers. "Are you okay?" he asked. She only nodded in response.
