Chapter 17Evan brought the turkey over to the table. Their Thanksgiving table wasn’t huge, but they had about as many people around it as it could hold. They had the three of them, of course—Nick, Evan, and Luke. Sarah sat at the other end of the table from Nick, who sat at the head. Neither of Evan’s parents had bothered to show up, or even to RSVP, but one of his father’s other offspring came by with a case of Dom Perignon and their father’s regrets. Evan thought her name was Nicole. She seemed nice enough. They looked almost like a normal family. It was normal enough for Evan’s tastes, anyway.
