Chapter 5Evan texted Nick from the bar, not because he wanted to prove anything to Luke, but because he thought Nick might truly have an interest in Evan’s project. His clients had all kinds of ideas. They’d almost have to welcome someone coming in with the tangible ability to predict the long-term results of their plans.
Okay, maybe they wouldn’t necessarily welcome a dose of reality. But they’d have to accept a dose of reality, and after the initial resistance to the buzzkill wore away they’d realize what a great tool it was. Evan wasn’t worried about the project being shoddy or anything like that. If he was doing work toward distinction, someone was supervising and probably doing so closely.
