P.O.V. jack
I can't believe that she agreed to let me mark her. Onyx is jumping around my head making happy noises.
“Jack…”she says shyly
“Hmm”
“Will it hurt?”
“At first but then it changes to the most amazing feeling in the world….well that's what my mom has told me.” I say with a laugh.
She kind of relaxes a bit as we pull up to the main pack house.
“Come on we need to go talk to my father '' I say getting out and she follows.
“Do you think he will actually listen to us?” she asks concern written all over her face. I grab her hand and lead her up the stairs.
“My parents trust my judgment. I know they will listen and trust us” I say opening the door.
“I think he might be in his office.'' I say leading her down the main hallway. I stop in front of the door and knock.
“Come in” he says from the other side of the door and I slowly open the door.
“Oh hi jack and ren what can i help you with?” he says pushing away from his desk a little bit.
“So….i'm not sure if you heard about the guest at the border or not but ren and i and even our wolves don't feel right…he wants to join our pack but something feels off about him were not sure what it is”
“No, I did not hear about our new guest…do you feel as strongly about this person as Jack does?” he says, his face turning serious.
“Yes sir i do….something about him seems familiar but i'm not sure how or why….i don't think he is telling us the truth and phoenix hasn't been able to settle down since we left the border…he is on his way right now to meet with you” she says in a huff. I pull her to the couch as I hear the front door of the pack house open.
“So he's on his way?”
“yes , and i'm sure they just walked through the door we have about 5 minutes until thomas brings them in here”
He just nods and starts putting his important papers away out of sight and logging out of his laptop. I've seen my father do this so many times when he has other wolves from other packs come that he doesn't trust. Just as he finishes up someone knocks on the door.
“Come in,” he says.
Thomas opens the door, behind him is the man and two guards. I'm guessing the rest were out in the hallway or at least close by.
“My son was just telling me about you…why don't you have a seat and we will talk” my dad says as thomas sits on the other side of ren.
“How far did he get before we arrived?” he says with a fake smile.
“That you wanted to maybe join our pack”
The man just nods.
“So tell me a little bit about yourself,” my father says, crossing his arms over his chest.
“Well im from a pack up north we were overrun by rogues most or all of my pack are dead or missing the ones that i escaped with i'm not sure what happened to them we split up, we had a plan to meet here at this pack…my name is tobias” he says sitting down in the chair a crossed from us. My nods thinking about what he has said.
“You don't mind if I look into your story, do you?” my dad says looking the man up and down.
“Not at all alpha,” he says with a smile.
“Until i check out your story you can stay in one of the guest rooms on the lower level…ill have one of these guards show you to your room” my father says standing up. The man nods and turns to the guards and they nod and start heading out of the door.
“But until i have confirmed your story these two guards will escort you everywhere you wish to go on my land…is that understood”
“Oh of course I wouldn't expect anything different,” he says, turning and following the guards out the door. Thomas jumps up and closes the door behind them.
“I don't think this is such a good idea dad…letting him stay on pack lands.”
“I want to see the real reason he is here son…trust me…just in case he is here for any other reason we will have more guards around the main pack house inside and out” he says coming up to us. And setting his hands on Ren's shoulders.
“I have a feeling he is here for you my child….but don't worry you are safe here that is why i am moving you guys to the secondary pack house that we don't really use any more”
“You mean the one i grew up in” i say a little nervous…mom has so much embarrassing stuff in there for me. We stopped using it after we built the bigger more modern pack house that we are standing in now.
“There will be guards inside and out there as well but unlike here all of the highest ranked warriors will be stationed there with you guys as protection” he says pulling ren in for a hug.
She wraps her arms around him and buries her head in his chest.
“I will never let anything happen to you my child…my biggest regret is not going to your families aid when they sent us those boxes….which i have had sent over to your new room already, incase it takes him longer to make his move…me and everyone in this pack will protect you ren you are our future luna the whole pack would willingly die for you no questions asked”
“That makes me feel very good…..but i don't want anyone to die for me”
“No one will die my love it's just what a real pack does” I say pulling her to me.
“Now go on, go home and get some sleep you're going to need it…we have training in the morning,” my dad says, pushing us out of his office.
