Chapter 8

P.O.V. Ren

‘REN YOU NEED TO WAKE UP NOW!!!’ phoenix screams at me in my head. I groan at her volume and then i remember what happened and i shoot up straight. I groan and put my hand to my head and its sticky and stings.

‘You hit your head on the window when we started to flip, i also think you might have a few bruised ribs, your arm is sprained and theres cuts and scrapes down your arms and legs’ phoenix says in a huff. I look around and get really confused from the looks of it im in a dungen i stand up and touch the bars and my hand sizzles.

“f**k that hurt….wolfsbane” i snap rubbing my hand.

I hear foot steps out side the doors and i rush to the bed and lay down and pretend to still be out. Shortly after i hear the door open and someone step in. i try to quietly sniff the air, but i get two scents one i croninize and one i down the one i know i can’t place but it is faint. And i only hear one set of feet.

“You can stop faking now child” the person says. I roll over and sit up and glare at him.

“Where is Jack and Beth?” I snapped back.

“We left them behind we only needed you”

“For what i'm not that trained i am a newly shifted wolf what need would you want with me” i snap back.

“You will soon find out” he says with a smile, then turns and walks out the door.

“For f**k sake why the hell am i even here” i snap as i sit on the bed and pull my knees to my chest as the cold and dampness of this place.

“I need to find a way out….jack is probably going crazy right now with fear and anger the works” I say with a slight laugh.

‘ i can faintly hear his wolf….were not far from him’ phoenix says a little excited.

‘Really...that means Beth can hear me’ I say in my head so no one can hear me.

‘Yes’

‘Beth can you hear me’ I say into our mind link.

‘I can't feel her, maybe she's not close by’ phoenix says.

‘Are you okay?’ I ask her.

‘I feel weak’

I stand up to walk around and drop to the ground making my cut on my head open back up.

‘They injected us with something to weaken me……...they….will….come.’

I hear her say then everything goes black.

P.O.V. jack

I drop to my knees feeling slightly weak. Why do i feel so weak all of a sudden i think to myself.

‘They drugged her so she cant reach out to anyone for help’ onyx says weakly

“Jack honey are you alright” my mom say rushing up to me and grabbing my arm to help me up.

“Onyx says that who ever took ren drugged her….were feeling the affects” i say the last part a little confused.

“We need to explain some things to you son” she says helping to my fathers office.

We walk in and my father jumps up and moves some of the extra pillows off of the couch.

“Are you okay?” he asks.

“Im fine it ren that got the brunt of this...but im not sure why i am feeling the affects of this.” i say laying back on the couch.

“That is what we needed to explain to you honey we know why” my mom says sitting in the arm chair acrossed from me and my father sits in the one next to her.

“If you didnt notice ren isnt like most wolves… shes different, special” my mother says folding her hands on her lap.

“Yes i did notice” i say sitting up and leaning on my knees.

“But what does that have to do with me and onyx feeling the affects of wolfbane?” i ask

“So her type of wolf is very very rare there are only a handful around that are known and most of them have been killed because of their rarity. They are born threw fire their wolves names are usually something that is connected to fire so they usually keep their wolves names secret”

“So what you are telling me is that ren is in alot of danger” i say standing up.

“We dont think shes in that kind of danger in that way”

“So where do we start looking?” i say as i start to pace.

“Honey we will find her it will just take us some time to pin point where she is be pasciant”

“I cant she is my mate and they are going to kill her!” i snap and storm out of the office and out the door, i jump off of the porch and shift before i hit the ground.

P.O.V. ren

I can feel the wolfsbane start to ware off enough to where i could move. I slowly stand up and move to the bed and sit down.

‘Phoenix are you okay?’ i aske concerned

‘Im ok just weak, in an hour i will be back to full stength… we need to find a way out of here ren … the rogue that came in here earlier…i know him he was part of the wolves that came the night your parents were killed.’ i can feel her strength coming back. All t=of a sudden the door is thrown open and four rogues come threw the door. I jump up and move as far as i can way from the cage door.

“Get off of me” i scream as i try to pull away from them but with phoenix being weak, i dont have much of my wolf strength.

“You might as well just stop trying to fight its no use the wolfsbane we injected you with has weakend your wolf enough that your as strong as a human” the one that came in earlier says but i keep fighting. They drag me up some stairs and out into the sun. i stop fighting for a second, stunned by the brightness. Sudenly i feel like ive been pushed back and have no control over my self.

‘Im sorry i had to pretend that i was to weak to help. So we could get out of here’ phoenix says to me and i just sit back and watch as she throws the men holding our arms far away from us. Then she turns and grabs the other two and pushes them back down the stairs and locks the door. She then turns and shifts then takes off into the woods i can feel her searching for onyx.

“BETH… o my goddess you have no idea how amazing it is to hear your voice’

‘O thank the goddes your alright….where are you?’ she says in a rush.

‘Im not really sure….i was able to get away thanks to a very sneaky phoenix’ i reply back. Suddenly i hear wolf paws on the ground behind us.

‘s**t phoenix we have to move faster’ i say in a rush.

‘Whats going on ren?’ beths asks concern evident in her voice.

‘Nothing theres wolves right on our tail. But i think phoenix isnt strong enough to hit her full speed’

‘Out smart them then’

‘You guys can do this just dont stop for anything just keep running….we will find you no matter what’ she says just as our connect is cut.

‘Were going the wrong way phoenix’

;how do you know?’ she says as she start to gain speed.

‘Because my connection to beth just cut out’

She listens to the paws behind her for a second and changes direction and we both hear the wolves behind us start to fall away.

‘REN!’ beth screams into the link taking us both off guard.

‘You dont have to scream’ i say know that going to give me a migrain later.

‘Ren i can smell jack hes close by’ phoenix says and speeds up.

We break throught the trees and we come to the clearing where i shifted for the first time.

‘We need to keep moving phoenix we cant stop just keep moving’ i yell starting to feel anger bubble up inside of me. She listens and keeps moving going faster as her anger matches mine.

P.O.V. jack

I return back to the pack house still frusterated that we are waiting for others to reach out to us for information on ren. Then all of a sudden the alarms start going off signaling that someone thats not part of our pack has crossed the borders.

My father, mother, thomas and a few of the other worriors rush out of the front doors as well as my self hot on their heels to the borders to help the other wolves on border patrol.

As we all come up on the wolves trying to fight off this one wolf i see the color as i get closer and scream into the pack link.

“STOP! THATS YOUR FUTURE LUNA!” one of the wolves fighting ren and phoenix is slow to react to what i had just said and digs his claws into her right flank making her drop to the ground and blood pooling around her. I push everyone out of my way feeling a stinging sinsation in my right thigh and ribs.

“Ren baby shift back it will be easier to get you out of here” i say grabbing her wolf head and putting her on my lap. She shifts back. She groans pain written all over her face. “Jack” she says a little confused.

“Im here….you are home” i say starting to pick her up three wolves stop right one the other side of the border. They shift back to human form. “Future alpha hack…that wolf is ours we must take her home so she can heal with her mate” they say.

Their words confuse me and surprise me all at the same time.

“This is her pack she is my luna and if you know whats best for you i suggest you leave and tell who ever sent you….that if you ever come after my luna again i will kill you all” i snap and turn to walk away.

“You really should give ren to us” he ays taking a step closer to the border. But just then the reat of our warriors showed and the mystery wolves freeze.

“Now leave and never come back” i say with my alpha voice and they take off back the way they came. I look down at ren and she is unconscious and getting really pale. I take off towards the pack doctor not caring that i am naking and running threw our little town.
