Chapter 3: Jealous

1041 Words
Hailey Queen Class felt longer than usual, as I was daydreaming again and again, picturing the guy with the piercing blue eyes, cursing myself under my breath. 'Why didn’t I even ask his name? Why didn’t I say anything?' A sudden thwack against my head made me jump. "Hey who threw that?!" I nearly snapped. “H Hailey, are you dreaming about begging Brighton back? The hottest guy at school, I'm sure you're crying inside!” one of my classmates laughed. "I'm sure she's dying to leave class just to go and beg him right now, too bad he choose a real Queen. A Cheerleader captain for that matter." Madison laughed along with her two minions. I blinked, looking around. Everyone was pointing at me, snickering. “Why are they laughing?” I muttered to myself, panic rising. Lilly appeared, holding a mirror. “Uh… Hailey… you might want to see this.” I took it, and my eyes widened. f**k! I had gum stuck in my hair. “No! Oh my God…” I whispered, my cheeks burning. Madison’s voice floated to me from the back of the class. “Aw, look at her. Hair stuck with gum… She's about to cry.” She waved at me with a smug smile. I narrowed my eyes. “You… you’re unbelievable!” I hissed, but the words felt weak. I bolted out of the classroom, my books clutched to my chest, tears blinding me. "Hailey wait!" Lilly called out, "Second period is about to start!" But I didn't care, I wasn't meant for this school. Filled with rich snobs who only found pleasure in bullying me. I opened the first door I found, collapsing onto a bench. The room smelled of sweat and wet socks. “Hey… are you okay?” A familiar manly voice asked gently. I shook my head, hugging myself. “No… I’m… I’m a mistake. I don’t even deserve to exist,” I whispered, my voice breaking. He stepped closer, and his hand touched my shoulder. I flinched and let out a quiet whimper. “Ah… I’m sorry. Did I hurt you?” I shook my head, tears falling faster. “No… it’s… it’s not you…” He crouched a little so he was at my eye level. “Then who?” He said. I shook my head again, avoiding to look at the man in front of me. I knew that deep sexy voice. The strange guy's sweet voice, I bite my lip nervously. “It doesn’t matter…” “You shouldn’t have to go through this alone,” he said softly, brushing a strand of my blonde hair from my face. I looked up and froze. His piercing blue eyes locked into mine, I felt like I was looking at a whole ocean. Gosh that the sharp jawline, I felt my cunt ooze with excitement, shush little kittie… and then, my eyes trailed down to his lips, he gave me a small smirk. "Like what you see? Don't just f**k me," He teased, slightly raising one eye brow. "Ew now, what the f**k?" I faked a look of disgust. "I've seen how you've drooled over me, little princess." He stepped closer, closing the space between us. I felt my breath hitch immediately. "I was just disgusted by the smell of socks in here," I try to look else where. "You're in the men's changing room, it's strictly for hockey players. I'm sure you knew you'll smell lots of socks." He stared into my eyes. I huffed and hugged my hang closer to my chest. He clearly had a point. “My name’s Royd,” he said. “But you can call me Roy. I guess you’re Hailey?” I nodded slightly, my voice barely audible. “Y-Yeah… I’m Hailey.” He leaned a little closer, he touched my hair which was filled with gum. “Who did this to you?” I tried to pull my books closer. “It’s nothing. Really. Please… I just want to go.” He held my hand gently, stopping me. “Even if you don’t tell me, I’ll find out. A pretty girl like you shouldn’t be bullied.” I felt my cheeks heat up. “I… I can handle myself.” He tilted his head, smirking. “I don’t think you need to.” I looked away, trying to gather my thoughts. “I… I hardly know you. Just… forget about it, okay? Thanks for saving me.” He chuckled softly. “Hmm… alright. But if I see anyone bothering you again, you better believe I’ll deal with them.” ........ Later that day I watched cheerleading practice, my lips twitching. I wish I could join them… Back in London, mom always made sure I practice, I hoped I'll graduate from there and probably lose my virginity to some hot guy but here I am, in this pathetic city. 'I guess one dreams just have to die,' I sigh. The hockey coach, Mr. Miller, barked orders at the team. I spotted Roy instantly and felt a small smile slip onto my face. I tucked a strand of hair behind my ear without realizing it. “What a slut… stalking the team now?” Brighton sneered from behind me. I flinched and held my books tighter. “Leave me alone,” I said, voice trembling. “Or else what?” he laughed cruelly. “I know you’re dying to beg me, but we’re never getting back together.” Tears pricked my eyes as Madison wrapped her arm around him, kissing him openly. Then Roy appeared, stepping in front of me. “Hailey, are you alright?” I blinked at him. “I… I… I’m fine.” He grabbed my arm gently and pulled me closer. “Honey, I’m glad you came to watch practice. I told you to call me once you arrived.” My eyes widened. “W-What? Wait… did you just…” He smiled softly, leaning closer, and pressed his lips to mine. I froze, my heart pounding. Did he just kiss me? Brighton’s voice cut through my daze. “You’re now sleeping with our new captain?!” I stumbled back slightly, clutching my books, my mind spinning.
