She woke up, it must be 3am. Hurting she sat up heading to the bathroom. Opened her cabinet grabed the bottle of Aleve and ate one. Setting it on the counter, she finished her business and headed back to her bed. She realized he wasn't there. Huh, I guess he left after she fell asleep. She laid back in her bed. She could smell him on her pillow. Jack Daniels, Next Chapter ( Morgan Madison) and Folgers coffee. As much as she tried to sleep, she couldn't. She got up, heading to her coffee pot. Again a note on her desk with a couple of bills, He wrote, For her inconvenience, There are 2 body guards outside your door. They are to stay with you till we figure this out She thought to herself, He must think if he keeps leaving money that's his way of separating what they did from a relationship. It made her a bit pissed off. Then again maybe it's a good thing. Did he think she didn't have money? Or was that telling her she was just his slut when he wanted. Well, she just left it there and started the coffee. No point in throwing it back at him like before. She made a full pot so she could give whomever he put outside all night, some. She wondered why he was afraid of being close. She was petrified of a relationship. She had been burned bad, more than once. She tries to not think of the two to that caused her to lose her heart. She could not love anymore. She'd given everything she had to a man that left her without even saying goodbye. No idea where he was. Florida she had heard. They had been together for a year. Almost 7 years ago now. She had known him since she was 10 years old. Thomas was a love she could never get over, or around. He was kind, cute, very intelligent, but abused by his parents. She had gotten pregnant. He never knew. He had left before he had a chance to tell him. He had to get away from his parents before one of them ended up hurt, or worse. Somehow he still held her heart. Her daughter now lives with her parents 2400 miles away. She had promised herself, not ever again. She could not ever trust another man. She never got close. When they tried she moved on. Weather it broke their heart, or hers she couldn't pass that line she we had drawn. Yes it was hard, but never again would she put herself through so much pain. Maybe that's why she pushed herself physically. She could feel that pain, but it didn't stay with her forever. Maybe she just should stay away from him. Perhaps tell him no more. That will be hard. Tomorrow he would be in his office. Watching her every move. She'll have to stop. She can't let herself feel anything again. She watered her plants. Wondering how long she could keep him as just a friend with benefits. She opened the door with 2 large to go cups of coffee. The guy outside was named Alex She asked him if he wanted coffee, if he liked anything in it. He was polite, yes please, black. And your friend? Albert, he said, coffee black also. Would you like to come in,? No mam, but thank you for the coffee. She closed the door. Thinking about what happened yesterday. Wondering if the phone calls had anything to do with her being shot at? She took out the card and told the detective about the phone calls. She gave him permission to get her phone records. He would email her a paper to sign. She did it right Away.
