TWENTY TWO

Leon falls to the ground with three swords stuck in his body, one in his heart and two in each of his lungs. 

[You have died]

[Your character has been deleted.]

"Damn it, what's going on?" This will be the third time, he has died since his deal with Moneybags an hour ago. 

The first time he died, he thought it was just a coincidence that the fairy teleported him to Camelot in which he died instantly in a very painful and inhuman way, courtesy of Merlin’s curse.

On his second death, he realized that the fairy was purposely messing with him as she teleported him to Pantheon's stronghold. Where he was cut into a thousand pieces and then died. 

The Third time which is now, he thought he had outsmarted the fairy as he quickly selected the place he would respond before she can teleport him. But much to his surprise before he could even take a step out of the starting village a bunch of random players gang up on him and kill him. 

"s**t! Am I being forced out of this damn game?" Leon tosses his helmet across his bed.

"Bang!"

It was at this moment that a mick voice sounded at the open door.

"Brother." 

Ems just saw something on the television and wanted to check on his brother when he saw the latter tossing his helmet across the room. 

"What is it!" Leon unintentionally raises his voice. 

Ems' uncontrollably takes a step back, her body shaking all over. This was the first time she saw her brother this furious. 

Seeing his sister's scared face, Leon came back to his senses and tried to hug Ems but the latter avoided his hand, knowing that he did something unspeakable he apologized. 

"Sorry Ems it won't happen again, I promise."

Ems, still shaken by his brother, walks up to him and hugs him. "It's ok bro, I'm sorry too, I shouldn't have been so scared, I know brother will never hurt me."

Feeling his sister's warm embrace, the anger in Leon's heart subsided. 

"What are you going to tell me?" 

Remembering something grave, Ems drag Leon to view the TV. "Bro, someone is speaking bad stuff about you."

In the television, Leon saw the face of Zeus, the Leader of Pantheon, holding a picture of his IG character and IG name. 

"We plead to all the good players of Genesys to help us stop the evil known as White, who is plaguing our beautiful world. He's a notorious player that is terrorizing this great world that we all love."

"I know most of you are already familiar with some of the deeds he has done, such as the Great Exodus and the destruction of Camelot. He’d kill innocent NPC and looted players without mercy. He's a despicable player that even red players wanted to kill."

"Due to the combined sacrifice of my brethren, we manage to weaken him but it would not last forever, sooner or later he would regain his strength and threaten our world again. To prevent this from ever happening, we will put White on the top of the  KOS(Kill On Sight) list and whoever kills him will be rewarded handsomely." 

'Damn hypocrite, I would not forgive you for this. You can't just be contented in just killing me huh? You also wanted to kill my family.' Clenching his fist tightly, Leon cursed in his mind. 

He then looked at the concerned Ems and declared.

'I'll eradicate you all!'  

"Don't believe that man on the tv. He can't beat your big brother so he is tarnishing my name."

"Don't worry bro, I trust you. If I see him, I would kick his ass for saying bad things to you."

"Hehehehe, that's my sister."

……

After watching Zeus' appearance on tv. Leon knows he needs to be extra careful. Now it's not only those people who he screwed over who would come for him but all of Genesys would be aiming for his head. 

'How can I strengthen myself if I can't do a quest or even leave the goddamn village?' Leon is racking his brain for a solution when suddenly his phone rang.

"Ring!"

"Ring!"

"Ring!"

"Ring!"

"Hello Anna, did the buyer back out?"

"No, the deal is finalized, the money has already been transferred to your account" Leon is surprised, it's only been two days since he asked her for a favor and a day since she informed him of the buyer. This is just too good even for Anna’s standard. 

"That fast." 

"Yeah, so what's going on with you? I saw your face on t.v." 

"It's nothing, just some asshole wanting to mess with me."

"Okay, pay him back, I know you're good at taking advantage of people so show him hell."

"Ahh, that's right I know what to do now. Thank you. I really don't know what I would do without you." Leon said as he hung up the phone.

On the other line, Anna mutters. 

"Then you should have married me, idiot."

….

Leon once again logged into Genesys. 

"Oh you again, when will you give up? After 100 deaths." The fairy asked playfully. 

"Once I made enough money." 

"You know you have no place here right? Just do something else."

"Can you just go away and stop bothering me?" 

"Is that how you talked to me after I'm generous enough to let you pick your starting point?" 

"Bullcrap! If you're so nice, then let me change my appearance and username."  Leon knows that the fairy won't allow it. After his third character creation, he figured out that she can watch everything that is happening in Genesys and she had developed a sick obsession of watching him struggle and die.

"Hehehe, No can do, off you go."

After Leon teleported away, the fairy smile sinisterly.

"Ahmmmm, so you picked Death Valley huh. Do you think you had outsmarted me just because you picked someplace with no players? Let's see how smart you are when your body is being ripped apart into millions of pieces." A monitor appears in front of the fairy, showing a gigantic centipede head submerged in a black lake.

"Let's set your pain receptors at 80% for extra fun, you won't die if only this much, right? hehehehe." 

'This will show you to mess with my world.'

…… 

As Leon got teleported, he immediately covered his nose as the smell of decaying corpses fermented the air. 

He then opened the system interfaced. "Yes, it works!" 

[Enemy of the World]

As someone daring enough to rebel and kill the son of the world. No one in the world can restrain you. But as someone who opposes the world, its inhabitants will view you unfavorably. No matter the species they will instantly hate you. 

Effect: Unfavorability -50

Effect: Immunity to status effects.

'I guess this place doesn't change much', Leon thought, looking around.

He was now in Ostarion Necropolis also known in Genesys as the city of the dead. This whole city is situated in front of Death Valley, where the air is toxic. Without poison resistance and a healer, even a level 100 player will die within minutes. 

Although this place is a city, there is no one living here. Players who discovered this place didn't know the cause of it or didn't care enough to investigate. They were just happy that they discovered an empty city, a place they can rule. Even though the whole place is toxic it didn't stop the players from fighting over it and soon a war erupted. The top guilds killed each other for the ownership of the city but in the end, no one wins and no one survives. It was naive for them to think that they would be handed a city just like that. When night arrives the once empty city suddenly becomes filled with ghosts. It was just then that the player realized that the place is not empty as they thought it was but filled with Ghosts. Ghosts that are very hostile to the living. 

"I need to get out of here." Leon ran for an hour before stopping. It's not that he didn't want to run anymore but because he can't. If he took one more step, he would be out of the city and monsters would immediately attack him. This place is dangerous for any player without a healer, and even though Leon can bypass this need because of his immunity to poison, Death Valley is still filled with Lv.100 monsters. 

"If I'm not mistaken that place is right here." Leon mutter to himself, trying to find something.
