Her dreams were revelations before Rebecca was a skeptic, and then she became only slightly superstitious, but that's exactly why she did not believe Stephanie. When she was telling her about the Halloween monster, she did not know that she herself would get caught by the said monster and that not only was it really a monster, but it was a monster that was supernatural being. She thought that it was something that was made-up by kids trying to scare people because they think real life should be a movie and they cannot get over their miserable existences, so they have to detain themselves with other people's misery and frightening.
