Six Months Later
Lili rarely left home except for school. During those six months, she barely ate or slept. She rarely saw Diogo, catching only glimpses of him heading towards his car with a suitcase. His visits became less and less frequent, with months passing without a single appearance, and when he did show up, it was always at a time when Lili was at school.
Lili had resigned herself to this situation. She didn't seek him out, didn't ask for help, and didn't tell him about her father's frequent visits to the house and school.
Her friendship with Livia suffered as well. She ignored Livia's calls and refused to let her in when she showed up at the house. She would send Carla to say that Lili wasn't home, and when Livia went to school to look for her, Lili would hide.
