Lili had fallen asleep. When she woke up, it was early evening. Diogo wasn't in bed as he had promised to stay there. Lili got up and went in search of him. She found him seated on the sofa in the living room, watching the news on TV.
"Come here," he beckoned as soon as he noticed her.
She walked over and settled on his lap.
"Did you sleep well?" he inquired.
"Yes, very well. I just missed waking up with you beside me," Lili replied.
"I couldn't sleep. I didn't want to disturb your rest, so I got up to let you sleep as much as you wanted," Diogo explained.
