A loud bang on the door jolted me out of bed in shock. I glanced at the door, wondering who could be disturbing my sleep this early.
The banging came again and this time, the person on the door was persistent.
“Weren’t the guards at the door?” I thought as I climbed down from my bed and hurried to the door, a frown etched on my features. "You better have good reasons for cutting my peaceful slumber short," I growled in displeasure and opened the door to reveal my Beta, standing at the threshold with a worried look on his face.
