I stared at Aria intently as she racked her brain for answers to give me. I could tell she was only trying to come up with the perfect lie to keep me from questioning her further.
Deep down, I could feel that she was lying about whatever woman had asked her to come and see me, and as I stared at her, a part of me began to feel like everything she was doing was just pretense.
First was her voice, after the incident in the forest, she claimed to be mute and now she is speaking like she was never dumb.
What else could she be hiding? For all I know, her being crippled could be a ploy just like she played dumb. I sized her up in disdain, feeling a sort of hatred towards her for deceiving me.
