My Secretive Wife

MISSION

On the third day, they were inside the sss. She was exhausted from running away from predators. She got bitten by bullet ants when she accidentally stepped on their territory. The pain did not bother her because she had gotten used to it since she started training, but she couldn't sleep that night. It is excruciating. The combination of hot temperature, humidity, and pain makes her sweat profusely. She felt like dying and wanted to give up, but the face of Benjamin Baltazar flashed in her mind. 'No, she can't surrender like this,' she mumbled. She got up and took care of her foot, bitten by bullet ants. She doesn't want to t*****e herself with the pain.

They reached their destination on the seventh day. The 18-seater helicopter is already waiting in the open field. Their group of seven was now down to four, and the other group was down to three. They were all worn out. Their haggard look is scary. The helicopter landed at the main base and sent them directly to the medical wing of the organization's main floor. They were called the lucky seven. There are some rumors that they couldn't find anyone of the recruits before them. That is why when seven of them returned, they were amazed and celebrated. Their batch has the most number of people who survived on that mission.

Marco reached for his wife lying beside him with closed eyes, but none. He instantly opened his eyes and looked around. Marco got up quickly and ran out of the room. He heaved a sigh of relief when he saw the light coming from her study. Since she agreed to tie a knot with him, he has this eerie feeling that she will be gone anytime soon.

Instead of seeing her, he decided to go to the kitchen to make a midnight snack for them. He's engrossed in the kitchen that he did not notice her presence. She tiptoed towards him and hugged him from behind.

"I love you, Marco," she said while hugging him tightly. Her head is leaning on his sturdy back. She had never had an intimate relationship since birth. It's not that she doesn't want to, but her focus is to be good at fighting, if not the best, so she'll be able to take revenge for her parents. After becoming part of the organization, some flies were around her, but she turned them down. Why? She doesn't want to be distracted and waste her time with anyone. But with Marco, everything's changed. Although her revenge plan is still her priority, she doesn't want to miss the opportunity to be with Marco, even for a short time.

"I love you too, babe," he replied, turned his head, and kissed her forehead. He stops what he is doing and faces her. He then reciprocates her hug by hugging her tighter. They stayed with each other's arms for a few minutes.

"Babe, do you want to eat what I made, or do you want me?" Marco said, teasing his wife. Embracing his wife like this arouses him. He wants her. Marco winked at her and made a pout when she didn't reply.

She blushed when she looked at him. He's cute! Can she say she wants him more than the food? She stared at his pouting lips and swallowed the lump in her throat.

Her sparkling eyes say it all. Marco smirked and kissed her passionately. He slowly let go of her mouth but did not stop kissing her face down to her collarbone, making her groan.

"Let's eat," he said in a hoarse voice, and she nodded weakly, still reacting to his kiss.

Two weeks later

Nana Maria shakes her head when she sees the two lovebirds reach the kitchen. They've been married for more than two weeks now, and unlike other newly wedded couples who prefer taking their honeymoon abroad or in a different place, they chose to stay in the cabin and the mansion on some other days. 

"Good morning, Sir and Madam!" She smiled at them before she bows down her head. Athena is still not used to being called 'Madam or Ma'am,' but she just shrugged it off. She already told Nana Maria to call her 'Bea,' but she insisted that she could not do that but agreed that she'd call her 'Bea' if only the two were around.

They ate their breakfast in silence, but their minds were entangled. They are inseparable after their wedding, and today, Marco will be back at work. 

"Eat more," he said while putting another piece of sausage and bacon on her plate.

"Okay," she replied absent-mindedly. She wants Marco to stay longer at home, but his vacation is already over. Although he can stay if she asks him to, she doesn't want to do that. She doesn't want to sound so clingy.

"Are you okay, babe?" He asked. He noticed a change in her behavior when they entered the kitchen. 

"I'm okay, babe. I'll miss you a bit while you were at work," she said in a sincere tone while pouting. 

Marco reached for her hand and kissed it. "I'll miss you too, babe," he said, looking at her eyes. "I'll make sure to give you a call from time to time," he promised with a grin.

Athena nodded and smiled sweetly at him. They head out of the kitchen and sit on the loveseat in the living room, cuddling.

"Sir Marco," Nana Maria called. A little embarrassed to disturb the two who showed their affection for each other in the living room. The couple behaved like one would leave for months when Marco would only be gone for eight hours, at most. Nana Maria shook her head, smiling. 'Ah, it's nice to be in love.' "Sir Anthony is waiting outside," she said politely.

"Thank you, Nana," he said without looking back, caressed Athena's head, and gave her a peck on her cheek. 

"I'll be right back before you even know it." He thought of bringing his wife with him to work, but he didn't want her to be bored while waiting for him. He knows that she is more comfortable in the cabin than anywhere else.

"I know," she hugged his waist and leaned on his chest. "I'll be in the cabin while you're gone," she said softly.

He smiled when she said that. "I'll pick you up over there then, hmm?" He said inquiringly.

She nods and gives him a peck on his cheeks. "Go," she said and pushed him off. "Don't let Anthony wait for you any longer." He stood up and helped her get up as well. 

Athena returned to their room as soon as Marco left to get her phone. She then walks her way to the cabin. In one week, Benjamin Baltazar will be in City S. She needs to plan to secure the information she needs to meet his doom.
