CHAPTER -2 provocation for the truth

It was mid night around 3 am. Nupur was sleeping but then she suddenly felt something around herself. She ignored it and went to sleep. After some minutes , She felt a low blow behind her ears. She just turned around and slept again ignoring it . And again she felt as if someone just said something in her ear more likely a whisper . At once she assumed that she was still sleeping with Ethan like they used to do in their apartment and slept again.
After sometime the whispering continued, this time Nupur opened her eyes to check on her. But to her surprise she was all alone , sleeping by herself inside her room . She thought that Ethan was pranking her . According to her , Ethan must had entered her room and was whispering something rubbish in her ears . Then ran away after her mission to wake Nupur was successful .
It was the only possible explanation right now as all the other friends of her would not do such thing because they had just met each other but for Ethan she is a girl of that type only she likes to prank people.Nupur was continuously thinking about who it could be behind this whole incident then she suddenly noticed some shadow or some person standing outside her door.She noticed it because there was a gap below her door as the door didn't touch the ground actually.She thought it was Ethan standing outside the door waiting to observe her post reaction on the prank.
Nupur said "Ethan if it is you behind this then i had enough of these pranks of yours, now please stop it and go back to sleep . we'll talk tomorrow."
Hearing the statement the shadow just left which was suspicious for Nupur because Ethan never used to do such a thing she would laugh and make fun of Nupur for getting scared or something else . But this time she just walked away.
Then for once , Nupur thought was it even Ethen or not ? Was I mistaken ? Did I thought of someone else as her?
Thinking about all this Nupur slept finally because the only way to find out who it was. Was By talking to Ethan the next morning.
The next morning when Nupur woke up she had forgotten about everything. She got ready for college and when she stepped out of her room. She was shocked after witnessing the view outside.
Both the college campus and the hostel building were attached and faced the opposite sides. So that the hostel building was facing Mitsuri's village . And the massive temple just added more beauty to the view. Its was all like a scenery. There was a lake beside the temple. Which reflected the morning sunlight . The lake was glooming and little children were playing in it while bathing. Outside the temple the priests were cleaning the stairs to start the veneration. And the temple was facing the hostel building. Even after being so faraway from there Nupur could easily see the glimpse of the deity kept inside the temple. And on the other side of the temple were agricultural farms. Where ladies and maidens were walking. It wasn't clear what they were doing as their figures were appearing really small due to the distance as The alley no.-6 where the six friends were living was on the third floor of the hostel building.
Nupur was admiring the view when suddenly Mitsuri interrupted from her back. " beautiful isn't it?"
Taken aback Nupur replied " yeah it is , beautiful indeed. But how long have you been standing here ?"
Mitsuri smiled lightly and said " just a while , actually I came here to see Milaan."
Nupur guessing about the person questioned " wait is it the deity in that temple?"
Mitsuri nodded. Finally understanding the actual thing Nupur apologized.
She said " oh , I am so sorry for what Noah commented last night."
Mitsuri assured her saying " it's okay Nupur you don't need to do this. It wasn't your fault anyway." Then an announcement was made again through the speakers. It was about the breakfast time.
Ethan came out of her room and told them that " hey girls, let's go the boys are already there."
Then both the girls left from there with Ethan.
At their dining table. When everybody had seated themself to start eating . They Noticed that all of them were getting constant stares from everybody who was passing by them . They wanted to know the reason behind it , but they were not able to because they did not know anybody over there until Mitsuri asked one of the seniors for the reason they were receiving constant stares.
Then the seniors told them that the alley where they had shifted is assumed to be haunted. He continued by saying that there was a a rumour that a girl who was a freshman over here had suddenly suicided in that Alley. The reason was that she had become mentally unstable due to the encounters with ghosts.
But the group ignored it as they had not witnessed anything like that yet. And the explanation also was not well reasoning for the cause of death. After eating was done , they all went to the Auditorium ground as it was the first day in the college campus as they were starting they were told to get gathered in the Auditorium.
After everybody has gathered the principal appeared on the stage and started his announcement.
He said " As you all know archaeology is not an easy subject but also not so hard. for this , you need presence of your mind , faith and strong mindset and the most important passion you will find a lot of hurdles in your way but you should not lose Hope . And if you are on the right path , you shall succeed"
Going further he continued " Now apart from motivation and all . I mean all the 43 students who joined this year and 12 teachers will go on the trip . The destination is just 30 mins away so no need to do so much packing and all . Just be free and enjoy because this place holds a lot of memories and enjoyment for you , it will also be beneficial for your career.
At last he ended his announcement with a "thank you!"and left from the stage.
After every body had left . The friends were also leaving just then Mitsuri broke their erupting suspense and told them that the trip was actually going to be a tour of her village.
Why was her village chosen for the tour ? What was so special about there? Was it about the temple? Or what?
