Chapter 4

“C’mon! Don’t be afraid. Open your eyes. Everything’s fine. I’ll hold you.” Little Lucas patiently coaxed Little Blaine to open her eyes and enjoy the view. They are now riding the Ferris wheel. From above, you can overlook the city.

Lucas holds both her hands and continuously coaxing her to open her eyes. Due to his persistent encouragement she reluctantly opens her eyes and what met her gaze is the million dollar smile of the boy right in front of her. Unconsciously she smiled back, a very sweet smile. She looks right into his eyes that are as bright as his smile and with that sweetness crept within her. She shifted her gaze to the side and she witness the amazing city view from above, colorful light twinkles from every sky scrapers that stood tall representing the booming economy of the city.

“Wow! It’s really beautiful.” Her eyes shines brightly as she immersed herself admiring the beautiful night scenery.

Little Lucas look at the little girl beside him and he carefully studied every expression in her beautiful face. The girl that is crying a while ago is now smiling brightly. Her eyes twinkle like the stars in the sky. He unconsciously smile and joined the little girl to enjoy the night view.

“That was spectacular. I really enjoyed the night. You don’t know how happy I am today. This day is the happiest day of my life.” Little Blaine keeps blabbing with happiness as they descend from the Ferris wheel. It’s pretty obvious that she enjoyed her night because her smiles say it all.

Little Lucas patiently listens to the girls’ blabbering as if it is like a music to his ears because the smile on his cannot conceal his adoration to this beautiful little girl.

They walk hand in hand around the fun fair and tried all kinds of games together. They even tried the dance machine and they dance beautifully as a duo. Their dance number is full of laughter. They enjoyed the night to their hearts content.

“Who! That was amazing! You dance like a pro.” says the little girl in between her laughs and gasps.

“No way! I was just carried away by your moves! You’re the pro here!” Lucas says while laughing looking at the little girl standing in front of him.

Facing, standing with each other their eyes meet. They unconsciously smile towards each other. They stared at each other’s eyes for a long time and Little Lucas saw that the girls face is covered with layers of sweat. He unconsciously reached- out and wiped the sweat in her beautiful face that made the girl blush because of shyness.

Lucas chuckled when he finds out about the girls shyness.

“By the way, you didn’t tell me your name.” Lucas asked as he looks at the shy girl in front of him.

Yes. They played and laugh together without knowing each other’s name. They had fun together as if they had been friends for a long time.

“Uhm yeah... I’..I’m Blaine. B’ Blaine Scott.” She answered with shyness and hesitation to utter her full name. So, she chooses to introduce herself without revealing her identity. She knows that her identity can intimidate most of the people she comes in contact with. Well, all thanks to her parents. That is why, most of her classmates are afraid to be her friend because they are afraid to offend the princess and the heiress of the most influential people in their country. She doesn’t want Lucas to be intimidated with her background that is why she didn’t reveal her full name. She doesn’t want to lose her one and only friend.

“Hmm.. Cute name. I am Lucas. Lucas Flynn. Friends?” He introduced himself with a very bright smile. He likes this girl very much. From the moment he saw her crying in the park, he can feel great connection to her and it breaks his heart seeing her cry. He lays down his hand in a pinky promise.

The little girl was stunned and she looked at the hand to which Lucas extended. She looks into his eyes and she gave him a very bright smile as she connects her pinky to his. And that seals their friendship.

“Friends.” She enthusiastically says.
