Wei was waiting for word from Dr. Lee in the hangar that contained remains of the crashed alien craft. This was where his encounter with an extraterrestrial intelligence all started. As he watched, in the blink of an eye the parts of the craft disappeared. At the same time, command center reported the probe had disappeared. They had no contact from Dr. Lee or Sue Lynn.
Wei knew in the pit of his stomach he had failed. The alien intelligence that was the probe and the Bigfoot would forever be inexplicable to the human mind.
