Sue Lynn ran a series of diagnostics on Colossus’s substrate once the connection with the lab stopped. The results were not good. Colossus was gone. Reporting to the lab, she said, “As Steve said a few minutes ago, ‘Colossus died, apparently committed suicide.’”
At Kobak’s urging, Sue Lynn looked at the rest of the platform and reviewed events of the past weeks.
Shortly after the zero-day attack, everything changed. Colossus refused any interaction with Sue Lynn. At the time she wondered if Colossus had been hacked or modified by the interruption. It was widely reported that something happened to many AI systems and platforms after the attack.
