The rest of the drive, I stayed in character. But I knew I needed the basic amenities before we arrived. The first impression was going to be key. The last little town before we crossed into the mountain range was tiny- but they did have a small motel. Ryker and I walked into the dingy little lobby to try and get a room, just so we could shower and maybe have a power nap. It was early in the morning, but we still had about a two-hour drive into wilderness ahead of us. The little frumpy lady at the reception desk looked like the definition of a busy body. Her round spectacles were so powerful that her eyes were magnified behind them. I don’t know how to describe it other than she looked like a human hedgehog. Even her short brown hair was spikey.
