Jacob steered me out the front doors of the pack house and onto the front porch. He led me over to a bench swing where we sat down, and he pulled my legs into his lap. Moments later, an omega came over with two flutes of cold champagne. “Cheers to surviving your first elder Council meeting and having a pack named after you.” Jacob grinned, the pride still rolling off him. “I still can’t believe how much my life has changed in just a matter of days.” “You deserve all the wonderful things. Maybe not so much the crazy things.” We sat in silence for our 10 minute break, sipping our champagne and just enjoying each other’s company. I rested my head on his shoulder and just soaked in the comfort from our bond. “Figured we could both use a little mental break. It’s been a full day.” “
