CHAPTER 10

I am lost for words. I can't say anything about Chrollo's behavior but I don't want to contradict him. That will make things worst and what he did is better. I don't want to receive threats from him every day.

An hour passed and Chrollo is still not here. Maybe he is somewhere doing some things. He is a busy person, maybe he needs to do some work stuff before heading on our trip.

I am sitting under a tree, pulling some grass out of boredom. I am tossing the grass after pulling it. The plants here also look like the ones we have in the human world. I still don't know things about here, still not familiar with a lot of stuff. I need to study when school starts. I am a bit scared of going to Mezmarat Academy but it also excites me because I will know things. I will study different subjects now.

"Hey, let's go. I gave you enough time. I promised my father to bring you home before the sun comes down. Many vampires who have uncontrollable bloodlust will be lurking when the sky becomes dark."

I looked behind me and Chrollo is there. He looks a bit ragged from his outfit earlier. Maybe he has done a tough job. Even though his attitude is rough, he is a responsible person. But I don't know if he is responsible enough to be the next king. Well, that does not concern me anymore.

"Let's go. Where are we going now by the way?" I asked.

"Somewhere beautiful. I will tour you to the marketplace so you can buy food. I don't know what you eat," he said.

"Okay. Are we walking back or you brought the car?" I asked.

He looked at me and grabbed my waist. My breath hitched by his sudden action again. Why does he keep on doing shocking things!? At first, he said I should not touch a royalty but look at him now pulling me towards him and kissing my forehead!

"I am sorry."

"I will stop threatening you about killing and stuff. Forgive me, please don't be afraid."

"When you came, everything changed. It was like you are magnetizing me and I can't stop being cruel."

I cleared my mind to stop thinking about that scene earlier. I might fall for him if I keep on doing this! I know myself well and thinking about romantic things makes me in love. I fell in love with handsome actors in the human world. Falling for a vampire here will wreck my life.

Within a split second, we are in front of his car. He opened the passenger's seat for me so I sat inside. He turned and sat at my side.

He started the car and continued driving while I am looking at the scenery. It is beautiful, it was like a mountain place scenery. We are going down from the hill. There are also villagers or I should say vampires having a great time. They also live like humans. Have fun, have a chat, work, eat, and study. That is what everybody does. Our physical traits are the only one that is different. But just like what the king said, I also maybe a vampire. I can't be transported here if I am not a vampire, but I can't feel bloodlust or feel like I am a vampire. I can hear from far range but I can't do that at will. I will uncover things when the right time comes. I just need to wait for the school year to open. I should also ask Lia again when I come back to the castle.

"Do you feel okay now?" Chrollo asked.

I stared at him but he is looking intensely at the road. I shifted my gaze to the road and answered him.

"Yes, just stop threatening my life. You are shaking all of my will to live in here," I answered.

"Fine. But I will not promise to be a so good friend to you. I will still be the Chrollo you know. I am not your boyfriend to be your prince charming. This is my attitude so bear with it," he clarified.

My jaw dropped. He is really rude after all. Telling directly to my face all of those words he just stated. But he is being honest! What is my problem with that? I should keep myself busy with things and not mind him anymore. Maybe his gestures earlier are his ways of comforting me because if I have gone crazy he can't control me and his father will also be mad at him. Or maybe he is forced to do that earlier to stop me.

Damn, I should stop thinking about that and Chrollo. This is making my mind too preoccupied. It doesn't matter why he did that earlier. The important thing now is he will stop threatening my life. That is still good news for me.

"Uhm, what took you so long earlier? Is that a matter about you being the next king?" I asked.

"No, not really. I took so long buying your stuff. That is the hardest thing I bought for a girl. I don't know the colors you like and what sizes are the best to fit your shape. Shopping and girly things are killing me," he answered and massaged his neck.

I scoffed and hid my smile. He really did that? I can't believe it! A prince who can not choose a lady's clothes bought me my stuff to give me time to regain myself. He looked so stress. Maybe I should treat him something later. He put a lot of effort into buying my things. He did something good for me and I should repay it so he will treat me better.

"I remembered the queen told me she will get my measurements. What is that for if we already bought my clothes and stuff?" I asked.

"Maybe its for parties or royal banquet. Ask my mom and not me. I don't know about girl's stuff and such," he said. "Also, I forgot to buy our school supplies. We will go to a near bookstore to quickly buy things before going to the marketplace."

I nodded after hearing what he said. Buying school supplies, it makes me remember my Nanay Indang and Tatay Basilyo when we are buying some from the market. We are always looking for cheap products that have good quality. Nanay Indang is the best when it comes to judging products.

After minutes of driving, Chrollo stopped in front of a bookstore. We got off the car and quickly went inside.

Girls younger than us were looking at Chrollo then diverting their eyes to me. They are looking at me with those judgemental eyes. I am not doing anything. If they think that I am their prince's girlfriend, well, I am clearly not and that is not my intention. I am a great friend of his. Really, really great that he always threaten my life before. He is not threatening me for the past few hours, though. He is loyal to his words.

We grabbed a cart and Chrollo pushed it. He said I could grab anything that I want and I don't need to mind the price. He also asked me to get things for him.

We stopped at the portfolio section. I can't choose between lime and purple.

"What color do you think suits me better?" I asked.

"Nothing. Color red suits you well. It complements your hair," he answered.

"Oh wow, you are doing good today huh." I teased him and he smirked. Something came up to his mind.

"I changed my mind. Color black suits you better because you are a bad person with a rude mouth," he said.

"Wow, Prince Chrollo! Coming from you!" I said imitating that I am shocked. "You are the worst person I met. Black doesn't suit you. You need an even darker shade," I said and smirked before picking red and black.

He facepalmed. He is losing his temper but he can't say threats to me again. I will tell the king if he threatens me again. Besides, I am not doing anything bad. I also regret breaking down earlier. That was not me. I just can't control my feelings and emotions earlier. Luckily, Chrollo did not really kill me.

After picking things, Chrollo paid for them. We don't need to stand and wait in the line because Chrollo is the prince. Royalty perks, that also happen in my world.

We went inside the car after buying things and Chrollo started driving again. I am enjoying the beautiful architecture of their city. The Mezmarat Kingdom, that is the name of their kingdom if I am not mistaken.

We stopped again in front of the market. There are vampires buying foods and fresh meat. Does he think that I want to eat raw things?

"I know what you are thinking, we are not going there. We are going to the grocery," Chrollo said getting my attention.

"Oh, sorry. My bad," I said. I felt humiliated for a bit.

We got off the car and went inside the grocery store. There are different kinds of food here. Cakes, bread, vegetables, pasta, beverages, and sweets.

"I will pay for my bill here," I whispered to Chrollo who is pushing the cart.

"Whatever you want," he said.

I chose different kinds of food. I also remembered my favorite soup when it is cold outside, rainy day memories. Sopas, it is a creamy chicken macaroni soup. It is a great Filipino food. I bought the ingredients, I want to cook them later.

I paid the bill and the same method earlier, Chrollo put them on his trunk before we went inside the car. He started driving again. He told me the next place we will go to and said that it is not that far from the castle.

He drove for almost half an hour before we stopped in a forest-like place. There are trees in here, different kinds of plants and it is getting dark. I think their shifting of day and night here is faster than what happens in my world. Maybe night is longer than the day because they are underworld creatures.

We walked outside the car. I saw a beautiful falls in front of me. What beautiful scenery this is. It is only beside the castle with a few walks and you will get here. It is also deep inside the forest so vampires can enjoy this place privately.

"Is it beautiful?" Chrollo asked.

"Yes, it is beautiful," I answered. "Can I have a tour?"

"Just do as you please," he replied.

I walked towards the falls and feel the beauty of nature. The water is clear and it is visible even if the sky is getting dark. I sat on a clean log and dipped my feet on the water. It refreshes me. Thinking that this world is very similar to my world, it calms me. I still feel that I am a human.

A glowing flower not far from me caught my attention. It looks like a lily, a color yellow lily that is glowing. I want to pick that flower. I will bring some to the castle.

I walked towards the flower and picked some. It smells so nice, I should go back to the castle because it is getting too dark. We didn't bring a flashlight to guide us back. I will come back here some other time.

Chrollo is busy using his phone so I poked his shoulder. He turned and looked at me but he accidentally hit the flower I am holding. His eyes widened when he saw the flowers.

"s**t!" he cursed.

Pollens and dust came out from the flower Im holding. We both inhaled it but Chrollo fell to the ground. My eyes widened and immediately tossed the flower somewhere. I held his head and tried to talk to him.

"Are you okay? What the hell just happened? Is that flower your weakness?" I asked.

He can't answer me and it is getting difficult to breathe for him. His eyes are also turning red. Damn, I should call for help!

"Help! Somebody help us!" I shouted.

I helped Chrollo to stand up but he can't. I shouted again and again but nobody can hear us from this far.

And then I remembered what Lia said. I should shout her name and she will be there at times that I need here.

"Lia! Lia help us! I need your help!" I shouted.

Within a minute Lia and some guards are in front of us. They immediately helped Chrollo and Lia helped me to stand.

"You did something bad today," Lia whispered and pointed her finger towards me.

That sent me chills. What should I do now? I am the responsible one for what I did! Are they going to imprison me?
