We enter the office, and Raina goes to sit on the couch with Colt and Sage. I walked over, scooped her up, and sat her on my lap in the chair next to the sofa. She gave me a dirty look.
"You know I spent years, and I mean years, sitting on my own ass on all kinds of furniture. So why exactly can I not do that any longer? She scolds.
"Well, that was before you became mine. This ass…."
"DO NOT FINISH THAT SENTENCE," dad yells. "Did you not learn from what happened in the kitchen, not to mention anything s****l in front of her parents? Please include your mother and me in that. You may be my son, but Raina was family before she became family. So, I, too, do not want s****l references about her made in my presence."
