Barn time was a success. We worked all the horses today. We even began working some of them outside the arena. Taking them on trails to practice search and rescue situations. Now that I look at these horses, I can see they are probably ‘war horses’ as well. Kodi is a Sooty Buckskin mare and she is so brave. She took to the trails and was not spooked by the obstacles we had in place to simulate rescue situations. So sirens, flashing lights, we play loud yells and screams. As we will be calling for the person who is lost and that person may call us. We utilized some of the children in the clan to run at the horse as they were found and excited. Horses are naturally prey animals and we are predators. So a child running at a horse yelling could be a cougar trying to attack
