I showed Britney all the new houses that were recently built and where the best coffee shop was in the Packlands. I loved watching her facial expression as I showed her around. When we made it back to the coffee shop, I looked at her.
“Did you want to get a coffee and something to eat?” She looked up at me in shock, then quickly looked down at her feet and scowled.
“Is everything okay?” I asked, worried that I had said something wrong.
“Yes, kind of, I just, I don’t have any money to buy a coffee or food. I need to ask Ivy if I can get a job somewhere, so I can earn some money.”
