Lizzy barely slept Christmas Eve. Darcy’s words repeated on a loop in her brain. He had said he would honour their marriage contract. Surely he didn’t want that—any more than she did. Did she? Yes, her feelings towards him were softening. Especially after the revelation about Wickham. She had believed in the wrong man. What else had she got wrong? She couldn’t afford to like Darcy.
