The night of the ball, Elizabeth gazed at her reflection in the mirror. In the candlelight, her dark eyes glittered beneath a crown of curls and white rosebuds. The pale pink silk of her gown brought out the colour in her cheeks. Dressed at the height of fashion, she looked like the future Mrs. Darcy. The transformation was complete.
