TWO GHOSTS IN A BODY

429 Words
I didn't realize that my sister, the same one I've been living with all these while; was a ghost until she entered into my body. Leaving me to exhibit her to the outside world. I was sitting down under the tree situated in front of our house when Karen, my sister came out of the house with a broken mirror. Her usually oval face deformed and disfigured. At first, I thought probably there's been an intruder in the house. My first instinct was to run, but a force got me rooted down in my seat. "Hello, Stranger.." Karen spoke, in a voice that isn't hers, hoarse and croaky. Devoid of life and tranquility. Her expression spoke of mocked fear and horror, and she smiled. "Karen, are you okay?" I asked, masked with fear. My heart going two times a beat. She didn't answer. She threw her head back and laughed. Brought out a knife out of nowhere and started cutting off her own flesh. I sat rooted in one place, my eyes almost popped out from staring so hard at the way my sister cut her own skin and eat. Every part she cuts, she eats. Until all that was left were just bones. I could neither speak nor blink. Karen wasn't in front of me anymore, but her skeleton was. Blood splattered over the bones, dripping with gusto. For every drop, there was a sound. Then, the skeleton spoke, this time, eerie and solemn. "I need a new body…" "A new body?" I found my voice.. "How?"… No response. Then it dawned on me.. Karen had traveled to the countryside last week. There had been an accident, reported that everyone involved died. But miraculously, Karen came back the next day, unscratched. Karen had died, and a ghost that needed her body had entered into her and had come to present itself to me as Karen. And now, it needs a new body? I froze. I don't know where it came from, but I was able to gather strength. I stood up and started to run. I was fast, but not fast enough. For I felt a boney hand grabbed me by my neck. I fought to break free, but my strength was nothing. The hand kept on choking and choking me until my breath ran out. I dropped on the floor. Moments later, I found myself sitting up. The ghost was nowhere to be found. Yes, because it entered into my body. Now, I am two lives in a body. Mine and a certain stranger's.
