Uh..morning

1229 Words
I woke up from the disturbing sound of the alarm. Cussed internally in my head for the noise of alarm. Then it pops into my mind that it's my work to put the alarm on cause I need to wake up early today. Anyway, it's a daily drama every morning. I'm the culprit who put the alarm on every night before sleeping. Totally compelled by the motivational side of my mind, but the very next day in the early morning, I'll cuss my heart out because of the sound of the alarm. Don't blame me for this. It's just Not Being The Early-Riser thing that some people will never understand. I checked the time on the bedside timer. "Uhhhh.. it's 8:30 a.m. already. Okay, 10 more minutes. " I was about to sleep again, but my mum came to my room to wake me up as I was getting late for college. " Anna, wake up. You're getting late for your college again." I continued to pretend to be sleeping. "Seems like it became your habit to get scolded every morning. " As soon as I heard this, I sat on the bed in flash speed cause if I didn't, then I was about to face the angry bird. I mean, angry mom again!! Hehe.. I smiled in my inner thoughts, but it's better not to try your luck with your mother when she is already angry over you. " Yes, Mumma, I was about to wake up before you even started climbing the stairs." I tried my luck a little by joking to lift her mood, but who I was kidding? " Enough of you nonsense Anna, if you want your breakfast before you leave for your college, then go wash yourself. Get ready and come downstairs. You've only 30 mins for everything. " After dropping the bomb, she left my room. I facepalmed and lowly screamed, " s**t, only 30 minutes! I always need at least 1 freaking hour to get ready. How am I going to manage everything now? " Then the realisation hit me that I'm only wasting my time over useless thinking as I'm not going to get any extra minutes for this. I rushed to the washroom and did my business, then took a quick shower and came out of the washroom wrapping a towel around my body. I was about to get lost over the thought of what to wear for today as it is my habit to do a trial before selecting the outfit of the day, but my mum shouted from the kitchen, " You've only 10 mins left, Anna! " " Yes, I'm almost ready mumma ", I also shouted from my room. Then I took and wore whatever came to my hand. After putting on my undies, I wore a black crop top with semi-skinny, slightly faded blue jeans and my fab Nike shoes. I did a quick scrutiny of my outfit as I'm a bit insecure about my body cause of my thick thighs and my butt. They look cute though with my height which is just 5'5" and I feel proud just the way I am but I hate some people and their lusty and filthy gaze over my body so I always spend time dressing properly cause I don't want to be the centre of attraction. And about my face, I don't like to use make-up cause I don't know how to, as a woman I don't even feel any shame to admit that I neither know the exact name nor the applicators of some make-up products properly. Some make-up products and brushes and all whatever it is; it's just unrecognizable to me. So I did what I do every day, I applied moisturiser and day cream on my face, tinted lip balm on my lips, and just a stroke of kajal( kohl) on my eyelids. I got this habit from my Muslim friend, Noor. We met in college and became best friends. She is my sister from another mother. Anyway, I then brushed my hair and kept it open, just the way I liked it. I've short hair, not so short. But compared to other girls, it's short. But do I care? Nah..long Bob cut hair suits my appearance, and I'm gonna keep it this way. One final look.. uhh, huh.. okay, fine, I'm ready for the day! I came downstairs and saw my mum had already served our breakfast on the dining table with our head housekeeper, Lady Smith. But I always call her Jena as she is my second mother. She always tolerates my tantrums and has taken care of me since childhood in the absence of my parents. "I wish everyone a very good morning." "Good morning," both Papa and Mumma said in unison. Papa was reading the newspaper as usual. They had already taken their seat while waiting for my arrival. Before I took my seat, I hugged my papa from behind the chair, kissed him on his cheek, and then served breakfast on my plate. I love my mum, but my papa is my hero. As being a doctor precisely to be said the famous Cardiologist in the city, he never let fame and popularity ruin his behaviour, he was always down to earth, and never gave anyone or anything the opportunity to change him and I like this side of him the most. According to him, he started his journey from zero to whatever he is today. So, we should always remember and value those hard days, which made us unreachable to others. I also follow the principles of my father. My Mumma, she's is a well-known Ophthalmologist. She is also a very simple and hardworking lady. They fall in love and get married, and their love story is not any less than a fairy tale, which is my all-time favourite. Anyways, we're quite rich, to be said, but they just want to live a simple life with me. They want me to know the reality, not the luxury. Honestly, we've everything, literally everything. Our huge mansion, my favourite cars, a few more villas in different cities and lastly our hospital. Yes, we own a hospital where my Papa is the CEO and a full-time doctor. My Mumma is the vice president, and she's also a full-time consultant as well. But they never got carried on with these things. They know how to balance their lives, and they also raise me in that manner. Being in a family of doctors, I also wanted to become a doctor from my childhood. But I don't want to become the doctor of human only. I want to become a doctor of animals. Now, I'm a BVSc.(Bachelor of Veterinary Science) student and I have already completed my 4½ years of study. The last 1 year is time for my internship, which I'm very much excited about. Cause after this one 1 year I'll get my degree and licence. Soon I'm going to start my internship after getting selected by my dream Vet Hospital in the city, to gather some experience. 'Oh my god, I'm really excited about it', mentally I was doing a happy dance. Suddenly my stomach started growling...Ahh no, this is so embarrassing. Then I hurriedly took a cheese toast in my hand and started to eat it.
