6 - Rage

A middle aged man sat within his office wearing a pensive expression. Opposite him was a man around his age wearing an amused expression. Around this man was an aura that could make even Alex and Kyle forced to bow and accept their deaths. This man was the Principal of the Belgrave County's Academy and a Novice Magus at Rank 4 now barely grasping upon the walls of the next rank. His looks could possibly capture most women in the world with his dark hair and bright blue eyes. The first man at the desk of the office was Earl Brien the noble owner of the Belgrave County. He seemed an extremely handsome middle aged man that did not lose out to the Principal with his blonde hair and blue colored eyes but possessed no aura at all but that was the extraordinary fact, it was impossible for anyone beneath the 5th Rank to completely hide their aura. Yes, Earl Brien was a legendary Grand Magus at the Rank 5. In the same way Beasts evolved every two ranks, humans a new ability and status regarding their Mana every two ranks. This 5 statuses were: The Apprentice Magus, Novice Magus, Grand Magus, Arch Magus and the mythical Saint Magus. The Apprentice Magus dealt with simple castings and the ability to use Magic. At the Novice Magus, one gained the ability to increase the mana inflow of their magic there by increasing its efficiency and destructiveness. At the Grand Magus, one gained the ability to store spells within their Mana Core. This kind of ability was extremely fatal during a battle. Another ability was to completely store one's aura and hide from plain sight. At the Arch Magus, one gained a domain of their element based on their personalities. This domain acted as an amplifier for one's Mana while suppressing the enemy. The mythical Saint Magus was completely unheard of. Any and all knowledge of such an existence was completely sealed tight within all Kingdoms. To the Beasts, these Magus abilities came as an innate technique with each evolution. Unfortunately, until Rank 5, Beasts with thin bloodlines had little to no intelligence so it was useless. "Hah~" Earl Brien sighed. "I don't have a choice do I? I could kill them but those two smart Beasts will also be smart enough to payback by erupting the volcano before their deaths. Grant it, their price isn't much after all." His face then turned soft as he faced the Principal. "How are my kids, Lionel?" Principal Lionel froze, then coughed as he spoke. "Ah. So for the past week... those two have been ditching class..." "WHAT?!!!" The Earl yelled in what was a mix of fury and confusion. Lionel returned to his amused expression. "Yes, apparently, the Drake teaches better than our teachers and I've seen their progress. What'd you know, Dragons are the most experienced beings on magic." Brien felt his world spin despite his Mana being as powerful as it is to stop nausea. "Just... are-are they fine?" Lionel nodded. "Better than ever before, Arthur. Trust me if I could I'd send the remaining children, I would but I suppose those beasts took a liking to your kids because of their rare attributes." Arthur sighed as he laid down on his chair comfortably. "The beasts said Light and Fire attributed Cores right? Which means they are more interested in Elizabeth in regards to experiments based on Magic. This also means they are sure they would evolve into Light attribute beasts. Is it wise to leave them be?" Lionel dropped his former expression while raising his glasses. "I know we are in war with Beasts at the moment but these two, they are newly born with intelligence that reaches a human's and no knowledge about other beasts, they also possess no ill intention towards us. I think we both know that the overall advantage of Beasts is that they grow stronger very fast at the cost of weaker power, these two beasts could be used as Guardians for our county if treated right. By my calculations, within half a year, they both would have evolved to the Rank 3." In his head, he added. 'And my just be the ones to kill the Duke without implicating us.' "Drop your dirty schemes already." The man couldn't but exclaim as he read the mind of his friend. "You're excused. I'll rest these few days so you handle the rest." Lionel clicked his tongue as he spoke sarcastically. "Yes, push all your work load to me." "Haha! It's what you signed up for anyways!" ***** Deep within the Vulcas Volcano, two humans and two Beasts sat opposite each other deep in their mental conversation. 'Basically, Light and Dark magic are very conflicting yet similar attributes. Light can be hardened through Mana to become solid and the same can be done to Darkness. But Light magic can create tissues and organs thereby healing wounds while Darkness can rot a person's body.' Kyle inwardly sighed as he said this through the telepathic bridge created by Alex who had reached the peak of using Telepathy. 'Compared to this advanced type of magic, mine is tragic crap.' Alex snorted. 'So is mine.' Kyle glared at the Fox. 'Damn you, you're racial talent allows you to triple the destructive factor of your flames.' 'Your Breath has the strength of a damn pseudo-Rank 3 Beast! And you're only at the middle of Rank 2!' Alex glared back at the stunned Kyle who couldn't find his tongue. Kyle humphed. 'I don't see your point. Anyways, I suppose these two must be on their way.' His eyes then twinkled as he remembered something. 'Hey, hey! Do you want to try out this new spell I created? It's like a catapult, cool right?' Unfortunately for him, his experiments had flew into the air as soon as they saw that twinkle. Elijah stuck out his middle finger as dark colored wings flapped on his back. "Damn you! That spell will get us killed!" 'Well their use of Magic indicates that there are further stages of Magic.' Alex nodded as Kyle spoke through the Telepathic link. 'For now our flames are also of a lower form, with only burning effects...' Alex widened his eyes in realization. 'Hmm, you're right... and the next would be a melting effect.' 'And with enough Mana the greatest effect would be reducing one to ashes like the sun!' Kyle concluded as he conjured a round ball of fire. 'Hmm, damn. Only a few months and I've turned into a Magic geek. I wonder what level Fire magic would need to evolve? Probably 10, that would explain the slow progress.' _ Name: Kyle Race: Greater Fire Drake Mana Core: Rank 2 Level: 84/200 Hp: 1400/1400 Mp: 1700/1700 Stamina: 700/700 Strength: 155 Endurance: 140 Intelligence:170 Agility: 135 Perception: 140 Passive Skills- [Pain Resistance- Level 7], [Hunger Resistance- Level 7], [Hard Scales- Level 4, [Maximized Senses- Level 2.], [Flames Physique- Level 3], [Super Enhanced Mana Recovery- Level 3], [Super Enhanced Health Recovery- Level 1], [Enhanced Thought Process- Level 9]. Getting to Rank 3 within 2-4 months should be easy. I would finally evolve into-' An overflow of Mana distracted Kyle from his excited thoughts and forced him to look at the distance it was emitted from. 'The twins!' The duo exchanged a glance before jumping out the mouth of the cave and using a Fire Wing spell. A dreadful scene soon unfolded before them. Body pieces, as if cut by something sharp, were scattered around the area. Not far from them, the twins lay on the ground quivering in fear as they clutched each other. In front of them was the man named Rogers, his body sported many deep cuts, his right arm was missing and even through the pain, the man gritted his teeth as he kept up a wind barrier that deflected wind blades that attacked their position. The man soon noticed the two beasts causing him to sigh with relief. The attacker was able to seize that chance to overpower the man piercing his sword through his heart. The attacker jumped off, allowing Kyle and Alex see his face. He possessed multiple scars but those seemed self inflicted. And his unkempt hair and flickering black eyes added to his murderous and savage appearance. What was most disturbing was that he sported a pleasured smile as he licked blood off his blade. "Haha! Another one! Weak! Weak! Too weak!" His eyes landed on the the twins at that point as he cackled on. "Will your skin satisfy me?" Even the experienced Alex furrowed his brows at that site. But unexpectedly, Kyle stepped forward. His Mana bubbled as the Greater Flame Aura towered to the sky while he walked towards the man. "Your legs... " For the first time since rebirth, actual words resounded from Kyle as rage filled his mind, this weren't words rolling off his tongue, the very Mana around him spoke for him. "... Get your legs off him." At that point, the world around them turned red. A/N: I will be using the sign, {}, to indicate Telepathic messages.
