I slowly stumble through the front door to my apartment and kick off my heels. “Stephany. It’s not working out. I’ve decided not to leave my wife. Don’t call me. Don’t come to see me. It’s over.” The voicemail played over and over. I slam the door and press my back against the wood for a while. Its cold frame comforts me while I stare blankly down the hall. It was dark.
