My mystery mate

Chapter 16

We arrive at the pack hospital and my mother is there waiting “go with dad. I need to stay with Nick” I say.  

“Alpha your hurt” I hear from behind me 

“no I'm not I'm fine”.

“Alpha you have a silver blade in your back we need to remove it now”. That's when I feel everything going black and collapse. I hadn't realised I was injured. I was so focused on my dad and Nick. I come around an hour later, my back killing probably from where I've had the blade removed I jumped out of the bed and run to Nick's side. “What's happening with him? Will he be okay?” I ask desperate for answers. 

“At the moment he is really weak. He is in a medically induced coma to give him time to recover but only he can  bring himself out of it”.

“I will be staying with him until then”.

It must be 3 days that I've been here now. I don't remember the last time I ate. People are in and out bringing me things but it just gets left. The most I do is shower using the bathroom attached to Nick's room. I can't be far away. He needs me close. I move around his bed and climb into the space next to him. I drape my arms around his waist and tears start rolling down my cheeks. “Come back to me Nick, I need you. You agreed we would mark each other”. I fall asleep holding on to him hoping he can feel me. 

Nick's POV 

I feel cold and I'm surrounded by darkness, I can’t reach Caesar. I have no idea what's happened. Where is Isla? I can feel she's sad. I need to get to her.  I move through the darkness not knowing where I am going. I hear a voice calling me. Its Isla I know it is I have to find her. I keep moving through the darkness eager to find her. I will do anything to get back to my love. There is warmth around me and I know it's her. I just have to keep fighting, nothing is going to stop me from getting to her. 

Isla POV

The doctor walks in looking down at me. “Alpha, he will need some things for when he wakes could you get them?” Lucy asks.

“But I don't want to leave him" I say looking at his face so calm, not moving. I remember Lucy said it's up to him now and I know he needs me to help him fight his way back. 

“I will call you the second anything happens” she says with a sympathetic smile. 

“How's my father?” I feel awful I had forgotten my father was here as well. 

“Hes awake and has been asking after you”.  I lean down and place a kiss on Nick's lips before I leave and whisper “come back to me. I'm leaving but only for a short while. Keep fighting”. 

I walk down the corridor and see my mother, I crumble as I get to her as my emotions become too much. I know darling “I know” she says running her hands through my hair. “He's tough, he will come back to you i promise. Your father is desperate to see you”. 

I wipe my face and take a deep breath. 

“Hi Dad,'' I say looking at him. He looks so much better than he did when I found him the blisters around his wrist are almost non visible. Just seeing him makes me crumble again. I run over and climb onto his bed giving him the biggest hug and crying into his shoulder. 

“My girl, my amazing girl. You saved me. I cant thank you enough”. He begins to cry as well. “I am so proud of you,'' he says, pulling me back to look at him. 

“I hear you found your mate,'' he says. As soon as I am discharged we will stay by his side together. “As I owe my life to him as well”. 

“I have to go get him some things for when he wakes”. my stomach makes the loudest rumble 

"sounds like you need food" my dad chuckles. I wipe my eyes and a small smile crosses my lips. 

“I can't remember when I ate last,” I add. 

“Right that's it” he says getting up. “We are going home Lynnett raspberry and chocolate pancake for our girl”. My mum nods and is soon rushing out of the room. “Isla will you help get me out of this place please?”

“Of course Lucy I'm taking my father home,'' I say through our mind link. 

“Isla I don't know if that's a good idea” she replies. 

“He needs to be home so he can finish recovering, and yes that is an order from me as Alpha” I chuckle. 

“As you wish Alpha” she laughs in reply. I take my father out and jump in my car taking him back to the house as we walk through the door pancakes are made and ready on the table. 

“I made extra” my mum says smiling 

“I can't be too long I have to get back to Nick”. I sit and eat through what must have been 12 pancakes. 

"Isla come quick" I hear through the pack link. I have already grabbed him joggers and a plain white top. Just in case he wakes. I sprint over to the hospital. 

“What's happened” I say looking at Nick, his face twisted with pain. 

“He started to get distressed we need you here as his mate to calm him”. I take his hand holding it tight. I won't leave again. I promise” I walk around to the space next to him and climb back up and curl into him. “I'm not going anywhere. I will stay right here until you come back to me”. Suddenly I feel his body relax as though he can feel I'm here. I place tender kisses on his cheek and chest keeping him calm and relaxed. “Nick, I need you,'' I whisper to him. I just hope it's enough to get him back.
