Chapter 15

Well the day is here the pack are all gathered as I give everyone a brief of what will happen. Nick doesn't leave my side. Him being here really has helped me with my personal strength. We are ready to move out as my mother approaches me. 

“Isla I'm sorry I didn't tell you I didn't know how” she says with tears in her eyes. “Please stay safe and bring your father back” she says. Then turning to Nick “you look after my little girl or goddess help me I will have your head on my wall”. He gulps knowing that she meant every word.

“Nothing will happen to her Lynnett I'm not letting her out of my site”. She throws her arms around us both. “Take care” she says turning and walking back into the pack house

Nick pulls me close, placing a kiss on the top of my head. “You ready?” he says. I nod and we move out.

“Everyone pack link is to stay open and your scent is to be blocked we don't want them sensing us before we get there. Only if you are injured do you release your scent. Also no one is to turn to their wolves, human form only if we are hit with silver it won't affect us as bad. We are here” I say as we arrive just outside the 2 mile radius “we are going to spread out. Everyone pair up keep an eye out we have vamps and rogues here. Let's go”. 

“Nick you are with me”. 

We tactically move in on the compound in the centre of the search radius. I feel my heart start to race. I feel Nick take my hand as it calms me. He nods at me and we both draw our weapons. 

"Rogues on the south perimeter". 

"We have vamps on the east" come through the pack link 

"take it easy" I say "wait did you say vamps its daylight". 

"Yes they are under blackout tents". 

Okay extra care needs to be taken now this has just got a whole lot harder. Take out those you have eyes on as silently as possible" 

“Yes Alpha” I here from various voices through the link. 

Nick and I breach the front door  "he's in here, my father is here I can smell him" we walk slowly don't the corridor I swing my blade as a vampire launches at us and take him straight out. 

“It's too quiet” I whisper to Nick. “Only one attack inside that's not right”. We come to a door that has 3 locks on the outside none of which are locked. We slowly open the door and laying in the middle of the room is the beet up body of my father. I forget everything and run to him his hands and feet are bound in silver and the skin under them is red and covered in blisters. 

“Dad,” I call. 

And before I know it I am thrown across the room and Nick is fighting off 3 vampires I look to see who had thrown me across the room as a vile being creeps out of the shadow. 

“This pathetic pup is who you made Alpha?” He crackles looking at my father. 

“Rogue King” I say

“You have heard of me well you know what I need to do don't you dear I'm going to end your pack now”. I hear howls and whimpers. I know my pack is under attack. 

“You will pay for this” I say lunging at him with my sword drawn. I hear Nick whimper as he is hit by one of the vampires with what looks like a silver blade. “Isla kill the king” he says between breaths. I let melody take control and go into attack mode. It doesn't take a lot to bring him down as he is old and frail. But each time I think that, he gets back up. I raise my blade and ask the moon goddess for strength. I swing it aiming for his head, his head is sliced clean off as it rolls to my feet. I let out a short laugh of disbelief. And look at my father I get him loose from the silver chains he had been bound in and turn to Nick. He is slumped against the wall bleeding with 3 vampires dead around him. I run to his side “Nick talk to me. Talk to me damn it” I say, placing my hands either side of his face. I feel his pain surging through me and let out a whimper. I call for an update from my pack who are all exhausted, some wounded others able to walk. “I need help” I call letting out my scent so they can find us. I pick up both my father and Nick walking with them draped over my shoulders neither one is able to stand or walk as I get into the corridor I see Jake running to me. He takes my father as I hold on to Nick. I can feel myself getting weaker sharing his pain. “Don't you leave me nick” I say you promised we would mark each other.

We reach outside and the pack take Nick from me, but I won't leave go. “Alpha we have to get to the pack hospital” they say. The rest of it is a blur.
