Chapter 20

As 7 o'clock approaches we both shower and change. I find an emerald green floor length dress with a split up to the thigh I hear a growl of appreciation. I stand and admire the ring on my finger. The light hits it and sends tingles all over. I pull my hair up and just let a few strands of hair fall.

The ceremony starts soon but I take myself to the place I met the fairy what seems like an eternity ago I kneel down again thanking the goddess for everything I have been gifted. Nothing could ruin how I feel now. Same as last time the fairy appears, her wings more magnificent than the last time I saw her. 

“Isla the moon goddess is so proud of everything you have done yet she has a warning trouble is coming and you and your mate need to be strong”. 

“What do you mean?” I say. 

“Nothing is ever simple my child” she says coming in close. “But I can tell you this, you and your mate are strong and ever stronger together. Use that. He is looking for you. Go celebrate but keep an eye for the trouble”. 

“Will I see you again?'' I ask.

“Who knows, child I only come when sent” and with that she was gone. 

I start walking back towards the Marquee and I see Nick looking worried. 

“What's the matter?” I ask concerned. 

“Your okay, thank the goddess. I couldn't sense you and you didn't say where you were going”. He wraps his arms around me so tight I feel the breath being squeezed from me. He obviously realises and loosens his grip. “Please don't do that to me again” he says. 

We walk into the marquee and mingle with the pack. I see Jake standing holding up the bar. I let Nick know where I'm going and he nods as he goes and talks to my parents who introduce him to everyone as the man who is making the pack dream come true. “What's up?" I ask as I take the drink from in front of Jake and take a sip. 

“My mate rejected me, good thing we are moving away tomorrow it sucks so bad I honestly feel like my life is over”. As he said this I thought it was a bit odd I mean he's not a bad looking lad not my type but growing up girls loved him. 

“Well it's her loss” I say placing my arm around him.

“I’m so glad I have you Isla” he starts blubbering. “You know your my best friend”. I signal to the bartender to cut him off. 

“I know Jake. Let's get you away from here” I say propping him up with my shoulder. Nick looks over and can see my struggle. It's not easy moving a fully grown man in a set of heels. “I told you I should have warm flats” I grumble as he helps me move Jake. “Hey, hey Nick”. Jake slurs “you know this one here” he says pulling me in almost causing me to fall. “Shes my best friend" he continues. “You look after her or else you get me” he tried to sound all masculine but it fails due to his level of intoxication. 

“Yes Jake I know and I plan on looking after her for the rest of my life” he says “if I ever mistreat her you have a free shot at me how does that sound”. I glare at him for encouraging Jake in this state. 

“Ye ye that sounds fair” 

“Right you are to sit here and sober up” I scold “you are not ruining tonight for me do you understand or I'm going to knock you into next week”. I know I seem mean but it's the only way to get through to him in this state. I move to the stage and hold the pack ceremony cup up and everyone falls silent. “We are all gathered tonight for 2 very special reasons. As most of you know my Mate Nick has blessed us all with an incredible new home that will be ready for us the second we arrive and also a new place of work. I want to let you all know how much I love each and everyone of you. This here our home will remain as it is and can be used by you all for holidays any time”. I gesture to Nick to join me on the stage. “Now with that said, is there anybody present that knows of a reason Nick should not join our pack as my co Alpha?” I look around the entire pack and not a single objection is made. “Nick do you accept your new role within the Lluead Nos?”. 

“I do” he says. With that I take the blade and run it down my palm causing me to wince I drip the blood into the cup and hand him the blade to do the same once he has added his blood I take the cup and sip it pass it to him so he does the same. His eyes widen as I'm sure the whole pack flooded his mind he gives his head a quick shake to help block them out I let out a howl as does the rest of the pack. 

“Before we can party I would also like to let you know that Nick and I are engaged” and more cheers erupted around the room. 

“Well what are we waiting for? Let's party”. We partied all night until the sun started to come up. With that the pack made their way home. Where as Nick and I went back to his apartment to finalise the arrangements for our big move.
