Chapter 28

"I'm sorry I couldn't control my tears since it's been so long since we met." Laura said, wiping her tears with a tissue. "Ohh don't apologize, I totally understand." Riley said. Laura just had a warmth around her that made it comfortable to talk to her, as if they knew each other for years. She wondered how Laura would react if she came to know that she is conversing with her long lost daughter that she had never met. "Mrs. Black and Miss. Black, do you want anything to drink?" A female voice interrupted them. Laura waved her hand dismissively, upset she interrupted her time with her daughter she barely knew. Though they lived together for an entire year, they never had a proper conversation. She had dreamed about this day for the past eight years and she never once thought of this outcome. She didn't want anything or anyone to disturb her. "Who is this?" Riley asked looking at the woman that just came in. Laura looked at her daughter with confusion evident in her eyes. She then told herself that she probably didn't get all her memories back. "Nancy. She took care of you since you were young." Nancy...... Lillian didn't tell her anything about a Nancy but if she had been taking care of Lillian since childhood then she deserved to be fired. How she wished she could fire Vincent too. "You're fired." Riley said looking at Nancy and turned around, flipping her hair. Nancy and Laura looked at Riley in confusion. "Why?" Laura asked. "I have some bad memories of her." Riley said looking down on her lap, pouting her lips, upset. If she had it her way Nancy would lead a miserable life but, she didn't want to overdo it, since she had to act like Lillian. And she highly doubted Lillian could fire anyone let alone ruin their life. "You can collect your last paycheck and never come back." Laura said with a glare. She didn't want anyone that hurt her daughter to be near her. Riley smiled. She liked Laura. Nancy tried to change her mind but eventually gave up when she saw how resilient Laura was being. Nancy threw a glare in 'Lillian''s direction, making Riley smirk at her which enraged Nancy even more. A FEW HOURS LATER Riley yawned and stretched her limbs. She had been conversing with Laura this entire time and felt like the whole day passed in a blink of an eye. Laura was good at keeping the conversation going, just like Riley. "It's late. Go to bed, let's talk more tomorrow." Laura said, looking at the clock. Her body felt sore from sitting in the same place for too long. Riley nodded and got off the chair. "Good night." She said, waving at her. "Stay here." Laura stopped her when she realized her daughter was walking towards the entrance. Riley stopped in her tracks when she heard it. She didn't expect it. "I don't have a change of clothes." Riley said looking down her clothes. Black ripped jeans and white top. "I have some clean clothes you can change into. Wait in your room." Laura said, getting off the chair. Riley just looked at her nervously. She really should've asked Lillian more details! "Uhh where's my room?" Riley asked scratching her neck nervously and bit her lower lip sheepishly. "The room to your right." Laura replied as she went towards her room. Riley entered the room Lillian has been staying in for 16 years in amazement. The room looked like it haven't been touched even once. It was so clean! The room was covered in a light pink shade. Just the shade Riley liked. It had 3D butterflies on the wall, just above the bed. A cupboard that fit the room perfectly and a bulletin board on one of the walls. She opened the door of the cupboard and held her breath. She couldn't believe the number of beautiful clothings she found in there. Wow. And Lillian brought the clothes she did when she was kicked out. Kicked out. Yea, Lillian was kicked out, that's why she was there. To take revenge and find out who her kidnapper is, not to play family. "Here, this will fit you perfectly." Laura said, holding a nightdress in her hand. "It's ok. I think I will wear one of these." Riley said, still amazed. The cupboard just like the room, looked untouched. Hell, the clothes still had price tags on them. And she immediately noticed one of them. It was in style more than 1 decade ago. She remembered caused she had the exact same dress once upon a time. "I thought you hated them. Since I never once saw you wearing them." Laura commented. Riley shook her head. "They are totally my style." Soon Laura left her so they both could sleep. Riley took the dress out of the closet and looked at it intently. She didn't understand why Lillian didn't take it with her when she left and why she never once wore it. Something was suspicious, she could feel it in her bones. The dress was bought 12 years ago. In other words, Lillian would be 12. Laura was in a coma then. So then the one who bought them.....is Vincent?
