After that day in the training grounds, one thing refused to leave my mind, and it wasn’t the fact that Derek did not punish Xira for her actions towards me—although I still wondered why—but Derek walking in without his cane or any form of assistance.
It was impossible to ignore, and though I tried to convince myself that maybe I was imagining things, my gut told me otherwise.
Something just wasn’t adding up, and no matter how hard I tried to shake it off, the thought only grew louder each time I replayed that scene in my head.
They said he lost his vision years ago during a rogue attack that the former Alpha of the Silvercrest saved him from. They said he could fight because he had trained himself so intensely that his other senses compensated for what he lacked.
