A mere train conductor

"I died yesterday at precisely 3:16. I got shot through the chest and it took me 6 seconds to die. You see I was a train conductor and prided myself on keeping the trains to the exact time. In my whole career I have only had a train arrive at its final destination late once. Not many conductors can say that. Other than work my life was fairly plain. I worked long hours and watched telly and went to bed every working day for this past 15 years. I never really achieved much and other than many train stations I didnt see much of the world" says da))Dagian. To which death replies "thank you Dagian, you achieved little in your 31 years but what happened? How did you come to stand before me like this?". " A woman was screaming to a man to let go of her as he was hurting her. So I used my work radio to call for security and stepped in to order him to leave her alone. He then pulled a gun and fired it into my heart." "So" death replies "you never had adventure or found the thrill of excitement through happiness or love. But little do you know if you had not have stepped in yesterday that woman would be here and not you. You saved her life. Sometimes its the little actions we do that have the biggest impact. Because of this you now have a choice you can continue to the heavens or take a chance at finding your true destiny. Once you pick you can not change your mind. What is your choice heaven or a second chance?". " I have achieved little in life so I will take my chance please." "Agreed, however there are rules which I may now tell you. You are not returning to your body. You are going back as a spirit, but there are many choices you can make which will allow you to achieve much. Spirits gather power from belief in them, if you tether sufficient power as a spirit you have the chance to walk once again as a man. Now its time to go."
